Wee TV: Park Slope Show

Sex and the City and Melrose Place creator Darren Star, along with SONY and NBC are reportedly in the works to create another show for television. The hour long must see is set to take place in the posh Brooklyn neighborhood of Park Slope.

If Park Slope sounds familiar, it's because we've run a few stories on the chichi neighborhood that constantly makes headlines due to baby and mama drama.

The beautiful area is notorious for stroller pushing mommies who sip on coffee and talk on their cell phones ad nauseam.

Local dweller and mother of two, Barbara Buenz told the New York Post:

I hope it's not going to be a bunch of moms doing Pilates and drinking their lattes because that's not me.

It might not be a reflection of her, but every girl in New York City isn't Carrie Bradshaw. I'm crossing my fingers they at least show the bar vs. stroller conflict in one episode!

After all, Notes from the Underbelly and Jon and Kate Plus 8 can't be our only prime time television, right?

Do Parents Try Too Hard to Maintain Their Pre-Baby Lives?

Having a baby changes your life, but are some parents more willing to accept that than others? Mamas love to joke about aging faster than their childless counterparts and their lack of time for themselves, while their friends without lil ones running around just nod their heads in agreement.

In a recent essay in the New York Post, a "non-breeder" wrote about her decision to live life childless and her resentment of how society judges her. She suggested that many women seem to have children because they want to please someone else and they aren't ready to abandon their pre-baby lives for their offspring. She said:

“When people insist on having a kid but refuse to accept any of the sacrifices that go along with doing so, they're being selfish while trying to pass themselves off as saintly just for reproducing."

Last year a Park Slope bar had to put up a sign banning strollers from their premises after they became overrun by parents bringing their tots into the joint while they enjoyed a drink. Bringing Sexy Back: Babeland Comes to Brooklyn Under Fire

That crazy Park Slope is at it again – there's another showdown between the stroller pushers and the riotous adults. The Brooklyn neighborhood has welcomed the adult–sex–toy shop Babeland down the street from the tot clothing shop Gymboree and not everyone is thrilled about it.

Parent of a four–year-old son, Bruce Osborne told the New York Post:

I don't think it's the ideal location for a provocative business.

Another mum said:

I don't think it's a great idea.

Me thinks some of those parents may secretly want to purchase a few adult items as they try to bring sexy back to their relationships. But maybe they'd rather order it off the Internet behind a safe screen.
