Barbie's gotten a bit more mod in the past 50 years most recently keeping up with the trend of getting tattooed. And, now she is trading in the Malibu Dream House for the bright lights of Sin City.

The Palms Casino in Las Vegas has created a true bachelorette pad for the iconic doll, complete with interior decor done by Jonathan Adler. The suite, which costs an indulgent $4,000 per night, is pink and black with inspired furniture like a corseted, lace-up chair and a mirror made from 65 dolls. Complete with a two-way fireplace, large Jacuzzi tub and stunning views of the strip, the 2,350 square feet suite can hold up to 50 people, making it a prime, yet pricey destination for a Barbie fanatic's slumber party or a mom and daughter weekend away.

Unlike the Eloise at the Plaza package, this destination targets women, but with 75 percent of lilsugar readers allowing their children to play with Mattel's famous doll, we imagine there's a market for this indulgence.

Five Tips For Remaining Playground Safe

Keep monkeying around on the playground – but do so safely! Neighborhood playgrounds filled with jungle gyms, slides and fireman poles that keep lil ones occupied throughout the day also pose potential hazards that can thwart an otherwise fun afternoon. According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 200,000 children visit the emergency room each year for playground injuries. Before packing up the snacks and sporting equipment, check out our top five tips for keeping lil hands, heads and legs free from injury.

Don't ride on slides with your tots. According to a new study, placing a child on your lap to ride down a slide can significantly increase the possibility of fracturing their legs. When a child's leg gets stuck against the side of a slide, the pressure from a parent behind them can cause it to bend in ways that force it to break.
Keep swinging on the swing set, not from mama's arms. Though swinging from mommy's arms may be fun, the pressure from doing so can cause lil elbow bones to be pulled partially out of joint, leading to a condition called Nursemaid Elbow that can be very painful for tots.

Blast Back From the Past: Simon

While today's tots are entertained by a variety of electronic games - many of which fit in the palms of their hands - most of their parents were first introduced to the concept with the simple, four-color memory game, Simon. After first hitting store shelves in 1978, Simon became the must-have toy of that holiday season. As the '80s progressed, the game became even more popular, showing up in feature films such as E.T. and National Lampoon's Vacation.

Though the original version can only be found on eBay these days, Milton Bradley offers smaller, pocket-sized versions of the game and virtually every electronic game manufacturer, like LeapFrog and V-Tech, has its own version as well. While modern games offer a variety of educational benefits and beautiful images, there will always be something magical about the simple, four-colored buttons and unsophisticated sounds that came out of Simon.

Mural Meals: Sand and Sea Recipe

I find that when I serve my daughter a meal with a story behind it, I have more success in getting her to eat it, especially in a timely manner. Whipping up a quick masterpiece will let your tot's imagination run wild while encouraging them to down vital nutrients. Shrimp are a wonderful source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B12, and niacin. A healthy choice for growing babes, they also supply the minerals iron, zinc, and copper and are low in fat and calories. Easy to chew, kids can gobble them up in no time. Incorporating most food groups, I used the following ingredients:

Shrimp
Blueberries
Couscous
Broccoli
Yellow cookie

I keep a bag of frozen shrimp in my freezer because they defrost in a matter of minutes and are a cinch to cook. I usually toss them in a pan with a pat of butter and a dash of garlic salt. While the shrimp are cooking, boil some water and make some couscous. If your tot prefers steamed broccoli to raw, take this time to quickly steam it. When everything is thoroughly cooked, remove from the heat and begin to create your work of art.

Place the blueberries on the plate in a wave pattern.
Lay the shrimp on top of the wave as if they are coasting the crests.
Shovel out the couscous underneath the blueberries for a sandy appearance.
Place the broccoli on top of the couscous like palm trees.
For the pièce de résistance, put a little yellow cookie in the corner for a lil sunshiney dessert!

The Red Balloon ($17) is the picture book version of the 1956 children's short film, Le Ballon Rouge by Albert Lamorisse. The film, which received a Best Original screenplay Academy Award and the Palme d'Or for short films at Cannes, captures a 34-minute adventure of a small boy who happens upon a red balloon in Paris, France.

The book showcases stirring stills taken during the filming of the movie alongside the storyline told page-by-page. If you missed this lesser known classic when you were growing up you can watch part of the film below for a taste of the fantasy-fueled excursion.

Interview With Liz Lange: Best Maternity Wardrobe Splurge!

Liz Lange creates designer duds and affordable frocks for the masses. Whether you are pinching pennies or doling out dollars, any expectant mama can afford a piece of the fashion mogul's signature clothing. While chatting about the relaunch of her high end line, Liz dished on wardrobe staples as well as items worth a splurge!

lilsugar: What one item should a woman splurge on during her pregnancy?

Liz Lange: I love a great little dress, like a fun dress. I find to me that is like practically wearing a nightgown it is so comfortable, and yet you look so pulled together and so great and so sexy and so chic. There’s a dress on our line called the Tina dress in a palm-leaf coral print and I just think it is so universally flattering, so cute and so happy. I think there are really two ways to spend this Spring. Either you are going to spend on something so practical that it is just an investment piece that you are just going to turn to again and again and it is so versatile that you know you can just wear it to death. Or I think also it is something that is irresistible and that is going to make you feel so happy and so cute every time you put it on, even if it's not one of those things that you can wear every day of the week and I would put the Tina dress in that [category].

The Cathy Off-the-Shoulder Top you could wear with your white jeans or your dark jeans, you could wear it over your bathing suit this Summer. Depending on how tall you are, you could probably wear it as a little mini dress with a pair or slides or flip flops. I’m having that piece made for me. I love it. I just think you want there to be some pieces that are just special to you and make you happy. Don’t just treat your pregnancy wardrobe strictly like a commodity-driven thing. Have a little fun with it – even in this horrible economy. This is still such an exciting time for you and you should indulge yourself a little bit.

I do believe in mixing and matching and that is why I do the line with Target – because I am a huge believer. The other way to make your maternity wardrobe look super expensive is if you haven’t outgrown any of your accessories. I love costume, I collect costume jewelry, the chunkier the better. Load it up with bling – and it doesn’t have to be real. Just add some fun, and that’s stuff you already own. The same goes for your shoes, and scarves and your cardigans that maybe you can’t button any more that are fun pop colors and you can throw on unbuttoned and tie around your neck just to change things up.

lilsugar: Your line at Target revolutionized maternity-wear beyond the mumu and empire tops. Do you plan to make any changes to that line now?

Liz Lange: That line we’ve always tried to keep connected to our high-end line. I just love that line for Target. Beyond its price point, that I find to be genius, that line is a little bit more casual. We’ve always done a lot of denim on that line. [It] has been in place for six year and it works as it is. The only change is that as seasons change and inspirations change, I’m only one person so I’m always kind of inspired by similar things for both lines.
