When the ball drops on Times Square on Thursday night we will usher in a new month, new year, and new decade. If you are pregnant or already have young children, this is the decade your little ones will remember. They will learn to walk, run, read, write, and bike. They will lose their teeth, get adult teeth, maybe even get braces. They will laugh, cry and grow.

Ever since I've become a parent, I'm keenly aware of the passing of time and the things I hope to do - and I wish for my family and children - in certain time frames. It can be bittersweet, but it ultimately makes me hopeful and excited about the future.

This year I want to continue my focus on family meals, silly family bonding time (from board games to singalongs) and fostering a love of literature with my kids. What is your parenting resolution for 2010?

Tell Mommy: Your New Year's Resolution

I've spent the last few days of 2008, flipping my flat upside down and getting organized. I finally had some time to take the saying, "Out with the old, in with the new..." seriously. When the ball drops on Times Square tonight, the bags of giveaway goodies will be gone and I'll have a sense of space and sanity.

My hope is that the new structure and order will allow me more downtime with my kids since I won't be shuffling though closets to find my daughter's favorite hair tie or the pieces to my son's train set. What is your New Year's resolution?

Mom–Me Time: My New Year's Resolutions

Every new year delivers a revised set of resolutions. This year I wanted my resolutions to be something that would make me a new and improved version of myself – a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a woman. Where to begin!

But, the ones that tugged the most at me were the mother and wife ones, mostly because my husband and daughter have to deal with me every day. So here are a few of my resolutions:

The potty mouth has got to go.
Try to have more home cooked meals (or sometimes even just warm meals) on the table at a reasonable hour.
No talking on the phone while feeding my babe her dinner.
Breathe life back into old playgroups that have fallen by the wayside in recent months.
Print out pictures from my camera and put them in albums before I have a stack of hundreds collecting dust on my shelves.
