The word stoner doesn't necessarily conjure up the image of a working woman with a kid, but some mothers find that smoking a bowl allows them to find better balance between career and child. A recent article in Marie Claire included an interview with mama Rachel Murphy, who routinely inhales after she puts her young daughter to bed. In order to secure an insurance policy, the New Yorker had to resort to chugging Ready Clean, which her husband was none to thrilled about.

For every woman that has ever had a haggard mom moment, you'll find a new hero in Frankie on The Middle. ABC's new comedy debuted last night offering viewers equal parts laughter and a reality check. Patricia Heaton plays a stressed out Midwest mother of three who balances her work as a used car salesman (who has yet to sell a vehicle) and raising her odd offspring.

In the '70s and '80s, Spaghetti-Os, Twinkies, cheese in a can, and sugared cereals were tossed into many shopping carts due to convenience. But now, many of the mamas who grew up sipping soda are leading the no-juice campaign.
Women who might have licked cheddar powder off their Cheetos-stained fingers in their youth now choose more nutritious foods for their offspring.

Made famous by her family's everyday antics on Bravo's show, The Real Housewives of New York City, Alex McCord has written a parenting book that will hit bookstore shelves at the end of this year or the beginning of next. Rather than an instructional read, the text will be a he said, she said penned by Alex and her hubby, Simon, about raising their young sons — Francois, 5, and Johan, 3, — in an urban environment. And, since they don't always agree, Alex said it makes for an interesting read.

There's always an excuse to get out of exercising — especially when there's a new baby in tow. The Dutch, who take their bicycle riding rather seriously (check out their balance bikes) and are known for their innovative stroller design (think about the Bugaboo), are at it again with the Taga — a combination high-end stroller and bicycle. Though the Taga has yet to make its American debut, we wonder if it will be a hit when it gets here.

Ignorance is bliss when it comes to some childhood habits like eating junk food. A chocolate bar tastes ten times better when you don't know how many calories it has or care. Kids pick their favorite flavor of ice cream based on the color or amount of bubble gum chunks it contains.

A refrain of "Donna Martin graduates" will always run through my mind when I think about 90210 actress Tori Spelling. And while both she and her famous character may have faced a few obstacles in their lives, Spelling has certainly moved on. The down-to-earth mother of two — Liam, almost 2, and Stella, 8 months — continues to star in her reality series, Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, with husband Dean McDermott, recently signed on to do a few episodes of the new 90210 and is preparing to release her followup to her autobiography, called Mommywood.

It is a proud and momentous occasion when a wee one takes his first steps. For many parents, it can be frustrating to watch other's toddlers take off leaving their tot in the dust. Each kid develops at his or her own pace, but there's nothing wrong with coaching children along to achieve their developmental milestones.
