Somewhere over the rainbow expectant mamas are rejoicing! The colored denim trend is still going strong, and now moms-to-be can get in on it! Jeans are covering the entire spectrum this season and with brighter colors taking center stage. Even Rachel Zoe recently tweeted, "Don't be afraid to rock bright pants this season - they are way fun." If there's anyone to trust about seasonal trends, it's Rachel. Lil Community: I Made My Own Maternity Jeans!

OK, so I know these in no way compare to designer maternity jeans, but since I'll only be wearing them for a couple months (Spring is coming soon and that means skirts and dresses!), I thought I'd save my dough and make some of my own. I converted a pair of my old jeans by cutting off the top and attaching an elastic waistband. Not too bad right? And see my little baby bump? At four months along, the little one is the size of a turnip now!

Babysugar Diaries: Paige Maternity Jeans

Many mamas-to-be find denim too restricting, but jeans suit most occasions so pregnant women get a lot of bang for their buck when they invest in a pair. Paige sent me a pair of Laurel Canyon maternity jeans ($185) to review and since I am a fan of their regular jeans, I was excited to give them a go.

After washing and hemming them to my liking, I slipped on the swanky dungarees. A perfect fit on the tush and legs, I was thrilled to look hip in (gasp!) maternity jeans! Constructed with 98 percent cotton and the remaining percent spandex, the black stretchy belly band starts where a normal button and belt loops would be and rises to just below the belly button leaving no room to bare your burgeoning belly or bottom.

While some maternity jeans pull all the way up to the bra line and look unsightly on the hanger, they do keep the belly from looking pinched in half. When wearing tight shirts with my Paige jeans, I can see the line where the band stops. For slim mamas–to–be that's not a problem, but for mothers who are more cushioned, the split may be a tad too much. The seam didn't bother me too much though because I went out and purchased another pair in white and between the two, I hardly wear anything else.

From there she dropped off her youngest daughter, Seraphina, and headed to her local Target. For the first time in history, the French presidential palace is hearing the pitter-patter of baby feet! Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy welcomed a daughter at a private clinic in Paris this evening. The baby is the first for the couple - the couple each have children from previous relationships: Carla's son Aurelien, 10, and Nicolas's children Pierre, 26, Jean, 25, and Louis, 14 - and is also the first baby born to a sitting French president. We admired the French first lady's buttoned-up maternity style as she went about her official government business, as well as her bikini style while on vacation. We can't wait to see the first daughter's sure-to-be impeccable style now! Congratulations!

The best way to prepare for this financial challenge is to make ample room in your budget to cover at least some of the items below. Consider this a rundown of what to expect to spend when you’re expecting.

Anything But Hospital Food

Hospital food isn’t the best, and you’ll quickly realize that you don’t have to eat it. From then on, you might expect a takeout bag every time a visitor leaves the hospital. But those morning egg sandwiches and evening trays of sushi that you can finally eat again do add up. Two or three nights in the hospital can set you back $50 to $75.

Getting Out of the House

Being on maternity leave feels kind of like being on vacation (except for the lack of sleep and crying baby). You will have a lot of free time, and after a week or two of adjusting, you’ll need to get out of the house and find things to do. You might want to meet friends for lunch and see some grown-ups. You also might want to go for an early evening drink or even dinner with your spouse since the baby sleeps in public right now, and it won’t always be like this. Try budgeting $25 to $50 a week in pocket money for small outings.

Selma Blair Not Worried About Her Baby Weight

The pressure in Hollywood to bounce back and lose the baby weight sometimes seems like a competition, but one new mom is not playing the game. Selma Blair, known for the movie series Hellboy, my personal fave Legally Blonde, and her latest film Dark Horse, says she didn't have time to hit the gym after having her son, Arthur Saint Bleick, in late July. She told Us Weekly:

"I actually haven't lost any weight since the day I left the hospital. I still weigh the exact same number. I haven't really been focusing on that at all, because I've been running around to different things like Toronto [International Film Festival] and Venice [Film Festival]."

She still looks pretty darn amazing for having had a baby almost eight weeks ago. Her secret? The 39-year-old actress says, "I've been following Alicia Silverstone's The Kind Diet. It helps with my clarity and endurance. In a few weeks I think I'll start getting into [the gym] when things slow down a bit - it'll be Pilates in L.A.!"

I find Selma's attitude refreshing. I don't know about you, but this makes me feel better about wearing my maternity jeans until well after my daughter's two-month birthday!
