Lots of ladies enjoy the adult company, the mental stimulation, and the break from their home lives. While it may sound like an idyllic opportunity for the whole family to work and play together on a daily basis, many mums and pops may not accept the offer.

This morning on the Rachael Ray Show, Rachael asked Jennifer Lopez if Marc Anthony was a hands-on daddy and the mother of two joked that since she was on television, she'd say he was great. The quadruple threat — actress, singer, dancer, and postpartum triathlete — was pure mama when she talked about their one-year-old twins Max and Emme's personalities. Since the kids made Jennifer a first-time mom, she credits her husband, who was already a father of three, with teaching her about parenthood.

A Portland fourth grader went to the head of the class to "marry" her teacher. The child proposed to Paul Rosenblum who agreed to play groom in the pretend nuptials on the playground. He sported a graduation gown and tie and the bride wore a sheet.

Last night TLC aired, Jon & Kate Plus 8: The First 10 Years, a retrospective about the couple and their children. While last week's Big Announcement was a tearjerker, this special was equally sad. It was not because it focused on the demise of Jon and Kate's marriage and the breakup of the family, but because it showcased their happiest times with home videos, clips of the honeymooners in Disney World and welcoming the twins and sextuplets.

Tammy Wynette's classic song "Stand by Your Man" may be the traditional tune, but it seems some family women are not up to the task, especially when their very public husbands cheat. Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" may be more suited for wronged wives like Jenna Sanford. The mother of four is marching to the beat of a different drummer than some of her famous peers like Silda Spitzer and Hillary Clinton.

Naturally lots of couples planning a life together envision one full of children and family gatherings. Though this can be achieved through many avenues including adoption and surrogacy, it could influence how someone chooses their life partner.
