Mini Me: Carlos and Lourdes Leon

Eleven-year-old Lourdes Leon seems pretty down-to-earth, and that might be partially thanks to her proud papa, Carlos. The personal trainer and actor may have a relationship with his daughter's mama, Madonna, but the two parents lead very different lives. People recently reported that the tween and her dad have a strong bond - talking daily and sharing similar tastes in music. The article said:

"Look at me and the way I live: I ride my bicycle, I walk, I don't have a driver," says Leon. "That's how I keep her grounded. Her mom does a good job too - she's not that person that everyone thinks. She's very laidback and cool."

Lourdes also seems to have taken note of her father's urban fashion sense and cool demeanor. Hand-in-hand, the two share the same striking features, warm complexion, and dark hair.

Madonna's mini me, daughter Lourdes Leon recently took a break from her brothers, Rocco and David and got girly at a Beverly Hills beauty parlor.

The dark haired preteen seemed to enjoy the perks of being a material girl as she indulged in a mani-pedi. And, wearing a skull hair band and black leggings, the eleven-year-old opted for dark polish to finish off her look.

These days tons of tots are primping since some businesses cater to child clientele. Lil ladies and gents as young as two are heading to salons to get their nails filed or painted.

Lourdes Leon isn't so lil anymore!

The striking 11-year-old now commands the cameras as well as her mama, Madonna.

The material girls were at Gucci's "A Night to Benefit Raising Malawi and UNICEF" which Madonna co-hosted. The icon's adopted son, David is from Malawi.

The star studded bash was held during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2008 at The Salon at Bryant Park yesterday in New York City. To learn more about this dynamic duo, read more.

Dressed elegantly and appropriately for her age in classic black, it doesn't look like Lourdes will be breaking out a bridal gown and singing "Like a Virgin" any time soon.

She may not replicate her mom's punk rock past, but there's no denying one thing the ladies have in common - the lens loves them.

As parents we stress about how the examples we set shape our children's habits, and health and beauty routines are no exception. We may ponder whether pampering sends the right message, but for better or worse it is rooted in our culture's gender stereotypes.
