Telling your tot to "stop fidgeting with her clothes" takes on a whole new meaning these days. Paper dolls have moved off the table and onto the computer, so why shouldn't they jump to your lil one's shirts as well? Paris-based Lotty Dotty's doll shirts ($45) are just the thing for budding fashionistas who can't get enough of designing.

The interactive t-shirts allow kids to pick one of five "girls" to be silk-screened onto organic shirts. Clad in a Velcro bathing suit, the girls can then be dressed up in the included signature tutu dress and an accessory of their choosing. Additional dresses, outfits, and accessories ($12 - $30) can be purchased separately, allowing for multiple outfit changes throughout the day. The children's shirts - ranging from sizes suitable for kids three and up - are also available in adult versions. Would you buy one for your kid?

We told you luxe is where it's at for tots! Gucci, Lanvin, Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta, and Fendi have all extended their design houses to include clothing lines with luxury pieces for pint-sized fashionistas, and it looks like mamas are lapping them up! According to NPD Group Inc. Consumer Tracking Service, Americans spent more than $32 billion on kids clothes last year - with $800 million of that spent on designer kids labels!

Over on Good Morning America this morning, Mary Pflum took an in-depth look at the world of designer kids clothes, interviewing a group of moms and tots about their thoughts on the popular trend. While the girls drooled over the haute couture looks, the moms expressed concern about the lessons the garments teach. One said it becomes hard to teach kids values like "beauty is not determined by a fancy label or a pricey garment," while another said the line between kids and parents becomes blurred when such pieces are so readily available. What year is this again? Last we checked, it's nearing the end of 2011, we have a female secretary of state, and women are holding more positions of power than ever before. So why are little girls still presented with lame activity sheets, which seem to think little girls are only interested in shopping, cell phones, and high heels? JCPenney and Forever 21 met with a lot of criticism earlier this year over their shirts purporting that girls are "Allergic to Algebra" and that "School Is Fun - When It's Over."

Thankfully, there's an encouraging new antidote: Just in time for the holidays, a new children's apparel brand is launching, featuring supersoft T-shirts that say things like, "When I Grow Up I Want To Be Me" and "Not Photo Shopped." Ahhh, that's better. Created by very pro-self-esteem, pro-girl, former CAA executive Seth Matlins,the line is available everywhere at Off Our Chests. Quite a nice change from those other graphic T's, right?
