The Summer blockbuster season is drawing to a close, and with that we say goodbye to the group of flicks designed to give our lil ones a break from the warm weather. While many of us are eagerly anticipating the Fall movie season – including Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Where the Wild Things Are and A Christmas Carol, movie studios are already banking on their 2010 arrivals. America's favorite superstar is going superhero! Brad Pitt, a proud father of six — Maddox, 8, Pax, 5, Zahara, 4, Shiloh, 3, Vivienne, and Knox,1, — will take to the big screen as the voice of a Metro Man, in order to keep his kiddos happy.
Best known for his intense roles in major motion pictures, the talented dad will star in DreamWorks Animation's Oobermind with fellow parents, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell.

All aboard the Christmas Carol Express! To promote their upcoming movie, A Christmas Carol, Disney has created a real-life locomotive experience for families that showcases graphic artwork, actor interviews, motion development, historical artifacts, and computer-generated characters from the motion picture.
Last Friday, I took my children out to see the moving exhibit, which stopped in Northern California.

My Sister's Keeper is a must see for mothers. Bring a box of tissues and prepare to empty your tear ducts during the entire experience. Unlike most films that escalate this one puts a lump into your throat just moments after starting.

A lengthy airplane ride or a prolonged road trip can go from disastrous to delightful with a simple push of a button. Today, Disney-Pixar's latest creation, Up, opens in theaters. The film chronicles the adventures of 78-year-old widower Carl Fredrickson, who ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to his dream destination of Paradise Falls in South America. Unbeknownst to Carl, an incredibly enthusiastic 8-year-old boy named Russell has come along for the ride looking to earn his last Wilderness Explorer badge.

Dreamworks is releasing their first 3D movie, Monsters vs Aliens, today. Filled with celeb voices from Reese Witherspoon (Susan Murphy / Ginormica) to Seth Rogen (B.O.B.) to Hugh Laurie (Dr. Cockroach Ph.D.), the family film is rated PG and full of appropriate humor that keeps both parents and their kids laughing.

The first poster for the film version of Where the Wild Things Are was released this week on the heels of kiddie flick Race to Witch Mountain's domination at the weekend box office.
The movie, which is scheduled to be released Oct. 16, is a Spike Jonze-directed adaptation of Maurice Sendak's classic children's story about Max, a bad little boy who is sent to bed without dinner and creates a fantasy world filled with frightening creatures that name him their ruler.

Last week, IMAX released its latest visual masterpiece, Under the Sea. The short 40 minute film enthralls its viewers with exotic underwater creatures from several areas of the Southern Hemisphere. Turtles, sharks, whales, and the more curious cuttlefish, seadragons and sea snakes come to life with the amazing 3D technology.

Isla Fisher's willing to confess things about her much anticipated movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic, which opened today, but she keeps mum about motherhood. At least when it comes to the press. At a recent junket for her latest release, when asked if she had read the book the movie was based on and how she balances the challenges of motherhood and career, the actress said:
Motherhood is my favorite topic in my personal life, but I don’t discuss it professionally just because I want my daughter to have privacy and a normal life.
