My mama was big on chapter books with me when I was very small. We tore through all the Little House books by the time I was 6, taking turns reading to each other. I really credit her love of books to helping me learn to read at an early age (3). Hoping to do the same for my daughter!

I would love to start doing this with my daughter soon, but I'm not sure if she's still a bit too young to grasp the concept (she'll be two in June). We read books every day, and it's been a part of her bedtime routine since she was only a few months old. I hope to instill a love of reading in her too.

Don't forget Winnie the Pooh! And children's poetry, like Shel Silverstien and Jack Prelutsky (I know I spelled that one wrong).
