Nine-year-old Tristan Coxwell called 911 when his mother, Kimberly Krone, was struck by lightning in the family's Texas kitchen. The calm child kept his cool and an eye on his siblings while he gave the operator information. Help arrived and after a brief hospital stay, the 29-year-old mama of six is said to be doing fine. A 23-month-old doesn't come to mind when one conjures up the image of a pool shark, but it should. Keith O'Dell, 23 months old, keeps his eye on the eight ball and can't stand to scratch! The tot who is likely still in diapers spends two to three hours a day angling his stick around his mini felt table perfecting shots. His parents say they aren't pushing their son, but will allow him to continue as long as he's happy.

Baby Born Two Days After Mother Declared Brain Dead

Baby Aya's (meaning miracle) birth is nothing short of one. The two-pound infant was born at 25 weeks, just two days after her mother, a former British figure skater, was declared brain dead as a result of a brain hemorrhage. Though she had appeared to be in perfect health, the mom-to-be, Jayne Soliman, suffered the massive attack as a result of an undetected brain tumor. The baby was born via c-section. Jayne's husband, Mahmoud Soliman, was forced to deal with the tragic and bittersweet turn of events. He said:

“It was Jayne's one true wish to be a mum. She would have been a great mum,” Mahmoud Soliman said in a statement to the media. “In the space of 48 hours I have experienced joy at the birth of my child and endured torment over losing my wonderful wife.”

10-Year-Old Hopes to Land Inaugural Obama Interview

Damon Weaver has already interviewed Joe Biden and Caroline Kennedy, but the Florida fifth grader was denied press credentials to interview the president-elect. The aspiring journalist, who already has quite an accomplished resume, will board his first flight to Washington for the inauguration thanks to tickets from Congressman Alcee Hastings and donors who paid for his trip. The 10-year-old hopes to score an interview with Barack Obama and fulfill his dream.

Doctor Jaidan, medicine girl! Valerie Lujan was seven months pregnant and at home with her daughter, Jaidan, when she went into labor. The nine-year-old stayed calm and acted quickly to deliver her little brother. Following the directions of a 911 operator, the child tied off the umbilical cord and massaged the newborn until emergency medical workers arrived. Both the mother and newborn are fine.

Anthony Iglesia wants to be like Mike. The seven-year-old baller was in Santa Barbara attending Michael Jordan's basketball camp when the iconic athlete tapped him to play a game of two-on-two against another camper and San Antonio Spurs player, Tony Parker. The former duo beat the latter with young Anthony scoring the winning basket and just as many points as Jordan. The child's proud mama and pop rooted him on.

There are kids in college and child doctors, but it's your every day kid tricks that truly steal the show. My son has the remarkable ability to dash down the hall in my three-inch wedge heels before I have a chance to worry about him rolling his ankles. He can also belt out a scream (the kind that can disable a person's nervous system) for far longer than the most talented opera singer can hold a note.

My daughter dabbles in beat boxing and does a mean self invented bootie dance. Not to mention that she bargains for things by singing an inventive and equally adorable rendition of the Ghostbusters theme song. Some talents are admirable, others we'd just as soon forget, but they are all kidmazing. What is your lil one's specialty?

Anyone who has ever played the "claw" game at an arcade knows just how difficult it is to get those pesky metal "fingers" to actually grasp a furry toy. While her parents were out of sight, a three–year–old lil girl outsmarted the game as she crawled into the machine and pawed all of the playful options. If only children wore the suits in Washington. Second grader, Justice LeVecke, won a "Letter to the President" contest sponsored by musician and activist, Michael Franti. The precocious girl recently read her letter, which called for an end to war, at his concert.

Kidmazing: Kid Gives Away a Million

If picking up pennies gives you good luck, this child is set for life. Ten–year–old Andrew Niemi of Carleton, MI, collected one million copper coins.

Starting on Dec. 26, 2006, kidmazing Andrew, along with some fundraising helpers, started amassing the one cent pieces. In March, the youngster reached his goal when he hit seven figures. To see how he generously applied his copper mine, read more.

Instead of spoiling himself with a new bike or skateboard, the boy wonder presented a $10,000 check to St. Patrick Catholic School. The Chicago Tribune reports:

His mother said the money would go toward equipment, including audiovisual hardware, two large classroom maps and a concrete bench for the peace garden.

Pretty unusual that a kid would be willing to give up a pretty penny, much less one million. Kudos to Andrew Niemi on paying it forward!
