Julianne Moore Has Children on Her Mind

Julianne Moore believes that children are our future and is doing all she can to ensure that they make it. The Academy Award nominated actress serves as a Save the Children artist ambassador and presented the agency's "The Disaster Decade: Lessons Unlearned for the United States" report recently.

According to the text, only seven out of 50 states meet the minimum preparedness standards for protecting children during disasters, which includes effective systems for family reunification and shelters that separate tots from adults to keep them safe from predators. Moore and Save the Children are now lobbying Congress to better prepare for helping children during hurricanes, wildfires, the recession and the like.

The mother of two – Caleb, 11, and Liv, 7 – plans her filming schedules around her offspring and is often seen shuttling them to school. She is an outspoken supporter of the TS Alliance to raise awareness of tuberous sclerosis and has penned two books about life as a redheaded child, Freckleface Strawberry and Freckleface Strawberry and the Dodgeball Bully.

Looking every bit her age and like quite the lil lady in a gorgeous, sparkly Yana Brink couture dress, which was accented at the waist and had a decadently ruffed skirt that any woman would envy.

The actress, who stars as Kit, paired it with complementary peep toed shoes by BCBG Girls. While shimmering down the red carpet in the company of some of Hollywood's hottest like Julia Roberts and Julianne Moore, the talented sweetheart held her own, with hand on hip. And when I do, I always think, 'I should do this more often.'"

The Broderick boys aren't the only look-a-likes running the streets of New York lately. Actress mum Julianne Moore picked up daughter Liv Helen Freundlich and a friend from school on Tuesday afternoon.

From their gorgeous red hair to the sparkling almond-shaped eyes, these two beauties also share perfectly petite noses and porcelain complexions. Nobody will be calling them Freckleface Strawberry! Lil Liv has no idea how good she's got it. She's lucky to be a chip off of that stunning block.

A piece in Us Weekly reports:

The stars are teaming up for the Johnson's Celebrity Hand Me Down Auction, which benefits the March of Dimes, Save the Children, Zero to Three and Baby Buggy, among other charities.

Other items up for bidding are Julianne Moore's daughter's highchair and Mariska Hargitay's son's tracksuit.
