Basketball season is underway, which means we're sure to see lots of celebmamas and papas taking their tots to Lakers and Knicks games galore. David Beckham treated his eldest son, Brooklyn, to courtside seats and a caramel apple. Other families spent the weekend jet-setting around the world. The Stefani Rossdale crew is jammin' in Hawaii while Britney and her entourage took a private plane to Louisiana for some down-home family time. The celebs were out this weekend - many stood up to cancer while others partied at the Toronto Film Festival and the VMAs. Still, some found time to snuggle with their wee ones. Sheryl and son Wyatt Crow left LAX after the breast cancer-surviving mama sang a duo with James Taylor on Friday night. Bon Jovi's Power Ranger son Romeo scoped out the streets of NYC, while Keri and River roamed their nearby Brooklyn 'hood. Check out the slideshow to see who else was out and about this weekend. Did You Keep Kid Names All in the Family?

While having a junior is just about as traditional as it gets, some parents try to preserve family names without duplicating them. Instead of choosing dad or mom's moniker, they may select the name of a relative from a different era or a derivative of a name. My middle name is Hart, my great-grandmother's maiden name. In a similar vein, I chose Alexandra as my daughter's middle name after my sister, Alexis. Helena Bonham Carter recently confirmed that her 7-month-old daughter's name is Nell. The story said:

Bonham Carter said her daughter was named Nell after "all the Helens in the family." The actress's mother is named Elena and her grandmother was called Helene. The name originated during medieval times and is a diminutive of Helen. It was also widely popular in the US at the start of the 20th century.

Sunshine Baby Brightens Up Dark Parents

The Burton Baby (whose name has not been formally announced) is a ray of sunshine.

Out in London enjoying a stroll with Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter, the bundle of joy's airy style contrasts that of her parents.

As the producer of Edward Scissorhands and Corpse Bride, daddy's got a creative and eclectic dark side which made him the perfect match for mum who recently starred in Sweeney Todd.

Decked out in a white hat and mint outfit that showed off her fleshy lil legs, we wonder if this tot inherited her family's talent.
