Take Your Child to Work Day gives parents an opportunity to show their children what they do on a daily basis and open their youngsters' minds about their own futures. But, it appears five Florida state prison authorities had a different idea when it came to showing kids the occupational ropes — the workers allegedly used a stun gun on visiting youth. Children between the ages of eight and fourteen were tased on April 23 while at Martin Correctional Facility.

Damon Weaver has already interviewed Joe Biden and Caroline Kennedy, but the Florida fifth grader was denied press credentials to interview the president-elect. The aspiring journalist, who already has quite an accomplished resume, will board his first flight to Washington for the inauguration thanks to tickets from Congressman Alcee Hastings and donors who paid for his trip. The 10-year-old hopes to score an interview with Barack Obama and fulfill his dream.

Mike Wahlberg is none too thrilled about the arrival of his lil brother, Brendan. But the reason the 2-year-old is bothered by the newest addition is just a case of sibling rivalry as the tot has been knocked out of the baby spot. Their father Mark Wahlberg recently reported that his older son said, "The baby has to go to Florida!"

Niurka Ramirez, the Florida woman infamous for blasting her two-year-old with a car wash water hose, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery after charges of felony child abuse and negligence had been dropped. She was sentenced to one year probation and anger management and parenting classes. Outside the courtroom, the mother said she grew frustrated with her daughter who was throwing a tantrum and sprayed her to calm her down.

But this latest report sheds light on what got the father and his son through the hours of treading water — repeating phrases from the 12-year-old's favorite Disney movie, Toy Story. Walter continued to call out even when his son no longer answered.

In an amazing family story of survival, a 12-year-old who was caught in a riptide while swimming off the coast of Florida and his father who attempted to save him were swept out to sea on Saturday night. Wearing just swimming trucks, the two treaded treacherous water through the night and were separated before they were rescued by the Coast Guard 15 hours later. Both father and the tween who has autism are fine.
