The promise of warm weather and sunny skies may be upon us, but if you are living on either coast of the nation right now, you are little more than a wet rag with all of the rain we have received. Though swing sets and parks may be beckoning, the current forecast has kept many of us indoors. There are a number of new tech products on the market that will keep your lil ones flaunting their creativity and unaware of the fact that they have been cooped up for the past few days.

When Fisher Price introduced their retro Little People Sets earlier this year, we were inspired. So today we are launching Blast From the Past, a new feature on lil to showcase nostalgic goodies — games, clothing and characters — from our own childhoods that have made a comeback for our kids!
Though there are a number of modern Colorforms kits available on store shelves, this Miss Weather Dress Up Set ($12) brings back memories of the Holly Hobby version of our childhoods.

Fisher Price Little People have certainly evolved over the years. When we were tots, the people were simple pegs with a round head attached to them. No arms, no legs and definite choking hazards by today's standards.

As you know, we are big fans of the modern, colorful prints that come out of DwellStudio. Their designs have translated into beautiful birth announcements, nursery designs, crib bedding and clothing, including a budget-friendly line made especially at Target. So it is no surprise that have teamed up with the retailer once again as they move into the world of baby gear.

While much has been said about the importance of the family meal no one ever said that meal had to be at home. My husband and I love to take our lil ones out to dinner to try new foods, but doing so does take some planning.
When building with sugar packets and playing with the paper from our straws grows old, I dive into my bag to pull out some tricks to keep everyone entertained.

Going to your local toy store and asking the sales help for advice on a gift for a six-month-old can provide you with more opinions and deep explanations than you bargained for, never mind the fact that half the items are never in stock. Rather than risk disappointing the child’s parents, and wasting your time, stick with one of these items that is sure to make everyone happy (plus, you can just order them online and be done with your shopping!).
The colors and variety of activities on the LeapFrog Learn and Groove Musical Table ($40) encourage kids to pull themselves into the standing position.
