Many newborns enter the world with blue eyes and they often quickly change into a darker shade or a different color all together. As eye color tends to settle in around six months, they are still apt to change as the melanin continues to develop.
If you look around a room, chances are over 50 percent of the people have brown eyes while blue and green will make up the rest.

Many newborns enter the world with dark blue eyes. As the pigment starts to develop, the color starts to change. Brown eyes dominate my family tree while blue eyes have a strong presence in my husband's.

Kathryn Stockett's first novel, the book about the relationships between mothers and the women that help them (nannies in particular) will have mommy laughing out loud, tearing up in the eyes, dog-earring pages with special passages and thinking about how she relates to some of the closest people in her life.

As a parent I've come to terms with the fact that my little ones will frequently bring tears to my eyes. I'm a crybaby and I'm okay with it. I had the tissue ready for when she went off to preschool or said momma for the first time, but some events brought on the waterworks without warning.
