Jane Austen's Emma: The Hip-Hop Musical

Hey, reimagining Jane Austen's novel Emma so it takes place in SoCal and centers on a valley girl worked for Clueless, so I guess why not make a hip-hop version of the classic work? Set in a contemporary inner-city high school, this tweaked version of Emma will revolve around a stepbrother and stepsister and "will include at least 15 song-and-dance numbers." Variety has more:

Screen Gems topper Clint Culpepper said he came up with the idea for Emma, which will likely be redubbed Emme, after watching the music video "Lip Gloss" by Lil Mama.

"Now it's urban," Culpepper said. "This is the way it should be reimagined in the new millennium."

The inner-city high school setting is one thing - certainly no more far-fetched than Beverley Hills - but the 15 song-and-dance numbers is a whole other thing. I'll be extremely curious to see how this turns out.

Darling Emma is the Sugarbaby of the week!

This sweetheart just turned four last month but her mom said she already thinks she's a teenager! She is a generous girl who likes to take care of others around her – her siblings, dolls, and preschool friends. As a matter of fact, she claims, "I have so many friends because I take care of everyone." Sounds like a good lil helper.

Some of her favorite things in life are her Little Mermaid doll, lip glosses, chocolate milk, and Baskin Robbins. Like a true Sugar fan, Emma loves Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry," American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, and The Office. Mom says Steve Carrell's character Michael Scott really tickles her. read more. Aside from listening to tunes, Emma likes to dance while her mom is cooking in the kitchen. Her mama says that her latest trick is jumping in the air and landing in a split – yikes! And being the mature little girl that she is, Emma loves to talk to her mother with one hand on her hip, right leg extended out and head cocked to the opposite side. This sassy lil thing still has a sensitive side. She is afraid of the dark and dogs after being bitten by one two years ago. However, her mother says that if her brother has to go down a dark hallway, Emma will swallow the fear, take him by the hand, and lead him down it.

Emma Watson Brightens Up a Pre-BAFTA Party in Peekaboo Lace

Emma Watson went bold in a bright red Valentino dress at The Savoy in London this evening, where she joined some fellow Brits at a Lancôme party in honor of the upcoming BAFTAs. The actress and Lancôme spokesmodel struck some playful poses on the red carpet at the event before heading inside to join the festivities. The BAFTAs will be awarded this Sunday, and Emma's latest film, My Week With Marilyn, racked up several nominations this year. That project gave Emma one of her post-Harry Potter roles, and audiences will get a chance to see her stretch her acting boundaries yet again in 2012 when the upcoming adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower hits theaters. Emma briefly dated her costar from that film, Johnny Simmons, but was most recently spotted sharing some playful kisses with a male friend during a stroll in London last month.

Emma Stone Shows Off Her Amazing Bikini Body in Brazil

Emma Stone wore a bikini to take a dip in the pool of her Rio hotel over the weekend. She's in Brazil to promote The Amazing Spider-Man, and dressed up to meet with fans and snap promotional pictures during her stay. She also made time for sightseeing when she checked out the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon. Emma's action film doesn't hit theaters until July, but we got a glimpse of her hot chemistry with costar and real-life boyfriend Andrew Garfield in the new Amazing Spider-Man trailer that was released yesterday.

Emma will soon switch gears back to her other big-screen project The Help, since the movie is nominated at the Oscars, which take place Feb. 26. The film and its stars have already picked up multiple awards with Emma showing her support on the red carpet at the SAGs, Golden Globes, and Critics' Choice Awards.

Prabal Gurung Fall 2012

Maybe it was the models' purply-blue eyeshadow, the iridescent sleeves on the structured coats, the black carpeting on the runway, or the really cool black cape that opened the show, but the Prabal Gurung woman felt mysterious - or downright otherworldly - for Fall 2012. Gurung's carefully sculpted aesthetic was still completely feminine, thanks to ruffled tops, feathers, and beading, but there was a definite futuristic element thanks to digital prints and a series of gold lamé pieces with strong geometric shapes. As for the woman of mystery, sometimes the models were in sunglasses, other times in tall black hats, as if they were changing personas with each look. If the show started in dark, it ended incredibly light, with a series of ethereal white gowns that seemed to float down the runway, and likely right onto a red carpet sometime in the near future.

Trends: Cutouts, feathers, futurism, minimalism, capes, balloon sleeves.
Colors: Black, gold, white, cobalt, digitized prints.
Key Piece: Joan Smalls in a beaded, semi-sheer black gown was pretty gorgeous.
Accessories: Triple-strap black heels, gold power belts, black police hats.
Who Would Wear It: Someone who wants to make a dramatic statement. We can see Diane Kruger in the gold dresses, Jennifer Aniston in the short black dresses, and Emma Stone in the blue print dresses.
