Though expectant mamas don’t appear to have cut their clothing allowances in light of the economy, mums-to-be looking to stock up on less-expensive maternity wear will have a new shopping destination later this year.
Destination Maternity, the company behind A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity, plans to open Two Hearts Maternity in more than 500 Sears and 100 Kmart locations beginning in October. According to the company, the stores will feature fashionable “career and casual sportswear as well as dresses, lingerie, swimwear, and nursing sleepwear” with most items being offered for under $30.

H.R. 4040, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), was passed by Congress last year and requires retailers to test merchandise for lead. This pertains to any item for children 12 and under including toys, clothes and jewelry.
