In a recent episode of Brothers & Sisters, tweener Paige went shopping with grandma Nora and the two came home with what Sarah (Paige's mom) thought was a doozy of an outfit - a sparkly red mini. After much ado, Sarah compromised by buying her daughter a pair of leggings and matching jacket to tone down the dress. Do you censor what your children wear or let them express themselves?

Tell Mommy: Does Your Tot Have Her Own Personal Style?

Suri Cruise may be a number one tot, but she doesn't wear the pants in the family. Tom Cruise recently revealed that his little star only wants to sport dresses, and refuses to put on pants. It may seem like Suri gets what she wants, but any mommy who's given up on getting her three-year-old to wear something other than her princess costume understands that some battles aren't worth waging.

In fact, a friend of mine has been struggling with her own two-year-old's refusal to wear shoes other than her pink tie-dyed crocs. She fears the day it snows and she has to force her daughter to change footwear.

Does your toddler display her personal style? Or does she refuse to wear certain items of clothing?

OnSugar Blog: I'm Sorry Honey, I'm All Touched Out

Lots of moms think out loud, and Celestialkat does too. I'm sorry...I'm all touched out right now comes From the Mind of a First Time Mom blog at OnSugar.

Last night, my husband was wanting to be...affectionate. I was not. This was something I had read about on new mother forums and the more realistic parenting books and swore this would not happen to me. I love my husband; he's intelligent and attractive, a geek, as well as an enabler to my geekiness, and he can dance (East Coast Swing, Lindy and Blues). I love being the focus of his attention. I love when he wraps his arms around me and kisses my neck while I'm trying to cook. But last night? Not so much. And (I utterly hate to say this) this wasn't the first time since the baby's arrival that this has happened.

This had been my day:
After a semi-bad night with Kara, my husband wakes me up to let me know I need to take him to work (he had left his car at work the day before because we were celebrating his birthday). The rest of the day revolved around walking and bouncing Kara, becoming a human burp cloth, feeding her, soothing her, becoming a human burp cloth (again), changing my shirt and repeating the cycle. Four of my shirts resembled a Jackson Pollock painting. Then I had to cook dinner. So, by the time 10:00 PM rolled around, all I wanted to do was crawl into bed and announced such to my husband.

"When would be good to turn you on?" Huh? That phrase seemed so foreign to me at that moment, I actually had to have him clarify. Then I thought back to while I was cooking, he had been his usual affectionate self. I had to ask a stupid question (even worse that having to ask him to clarify), "Were you trying to turn me on tonight?" Awkwardville, population: me. "I'm sorry, but I just want to sleep. I've been thrown up on more times that I was able to count and even the thought of bodily fluids is so unappealing." Fortunately, my husband is wonderful and understanding and agreed that maybe we need to go the completely unromantic route and schedule turn on time.

Tummy Tie: Ga Ga or Gag?

Mamas-to-be go to great lengths to keep their pre-pregnancy wardrobe working as long as possible. Necessity is the mother of invention, so it is no surprise that the age-old maternity trick of using a rubber band to keep your unbuttoned pants closed has led to the creation of an elastic designed expressly for women hoping to stave off maternity clothes for a few more weeks.

The Tummy Tie ($15 for three) threads through a pants' buttonhole and reattaches to the button, keeping trousers closed and flat against the belly. Its creator claims that the ties can be used for the first five or six months of pregnancy, given the stretchiness of the fabric and two sizes included in each pack.

Heidi Klum Brings Sophisticated Style to Pea in the Pod

She may have gloated about her ability to forgo maternity wear, but that isn't stopping one of the fashion world's most famous mamas from dipping her hand into the expectant women's clothing area.

Mom of four Heidi Klum, who recently gave birth to Lou Samuel, just announced her collaboration on two lines of pregnancy pieces that reflect her sophisticated style. Like Nicole Richie, the hot mama is offering a small collection of clothes with uber-maternity store A Pea in the Pod. Fifteen form-fitting pieces will make up the Lavish by Heidi Klum collection, while 14 looser and more playful pieces will make up the more moderately priced Loved by Heidi Klum line at Motherhood Maternity.

At first glance, it doesn't look like the Project Runway host stole any of the designs last season's contestants whipped up for her as the pieces appear to mimic her own pregnancy style, with a knockout black dress and chiffon print shirt anchoring the lines. Moms-to-be can expect to see the whole collection just in time for Valentine's Day.

Children's Sample Sale Sites Feed Moms' Shopping Needs

Mamas who love spending dough on their lil ones know how quickly a barrette here and shoes there can add up. While some save cash by shopping at discount or consignment shops, others can't give up their love of designer duds for their tots. Over the past year several online sample sale sites have set up shop offering significant price reductions on clothing and gear for expectant moms and tots.

The Mini Social, bTrendie and Zulily all send daily emails to members, informing them of the one or two sales they are hosting that day. Sale products tend to focus on boutique brands – such as celeb baby favorite Splendid Littles, eco-friendly toy company Plan Toys and baby gear giant Graco to name a few – and prices can be as much as 50 percent off of retail stores. But interested buyers have to act fast and be willing to compromise. The sites tend to only have a limited supply of the goods that can sell out in a matter of minutes, and the available colors and patterns may not be the most current.

10 Things Moms Would Love to Do in Private

Moms love their kids but that doesn't mean they don't miss privacy in certain circumstances. Modesty is lost when a woman gives birth and many assume it's gone for good. That keeps mothers longing for a handful of things that they used to take for granted. Oh, the dream of doing such simple things alone:

Take a shower without small fists beating on the door because someone has to pee or needs the channel changed.
Go to the bathroom at home without getting a bath because a lil friend is pretending to wash their hands in the sink with an entire bottle of liquid soap.
Go to a public restroom without having to hold the door shut with one leg (because your tot is trying to open it) and repeatedly reminding your kiddos that "not touching anything" includes the sanitary napkin disposal, the toilet paper dispenser, and the flusher.
Try on clothing in a dressing room without having to share the space with a stroller and three kids.
Being able to check the way the items fit in the mirror without your son peeking under the divider at the woman in the next dressing room and your daughter poking at fat you didn't realize you had.
To sleep without bumping into someone that slipped into your bed during the night because they had a bad dream.
To wake up naturally instead of having clammy fingers tug your eyelids open because, "It's time to get up!"
To talk on the phone without toy sirens blaring or a wee World War III breaking out.
To have a conversation without someone pulling on your pant leg saying, "Excuse me. Excuse me." Or put their hand down your shirt, or restyle your hair with their sticky hands.
Take a nap without the kids speculating that you are sick or dying.
