Parents headed to the movie theater in search of a big screen version of their lil one's favorite bedtime tale, may want to do a bit of research before buying that ticket and popcorn combo package. In a trend that doesn't show any signs of slowing down, Hollywood is taking children's favorite books and transitioning them into not-necessarily-for-kids flicks.
The latest such film to hit the silver screen will be Alice in Wonderland, which opens this weekend.

Time to update the Netflix queue! The brutally cold weather gripping much of the nation has many tots — and their mamas — going a bit stir crazy. After the holiday gifts have lost their thrill and you've already seen every kiddie flick playing at the local theater, there are few phrases moms fear more than, "I'm bored."

It's so hard to part with your baby's first socks, the onesie they wore home from the hospital or their first pair of shoes, but it's even tougher to live with bags of their keepsakes stored in every nook and cranny of your place. Lisa Barnes, author of Petit Appetit: Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, shares with LilSugar a classic sugar cookie recipe that works for all seasons — though it's especially great for a holiday party, cookie swap or playdate activity. Kids can help dump the measured ingredients into the mixing bowl and turn on and off the electric mixer to help make the dough. Of course the fun really begins with the cookie cutting and icing decorating.

Ask most grandparents what they want this holiday season and they'll tell you time spent with the next generation. Ask any kid what they want from grandma and grandpa and expect the world. Each family's relationship with grandparents takes on its own form, but mas and pas are known to spoil their little darlings at birthdays, during the holidays and any given day of the week.

I know it is only a short while before my lil ones come home with bags of treats, so I wanted to try to make my own candy! Epicurious had a great recipe for a frightful version of buckeye candy; traditionally it is a peanut butter ball that is then coated in a thin layer of chocolate. With a little creative dunking and a bag of M&M's, these candies are transformed into a spooky, yet, scrumptious monster eyeball.
