Cookie magazine promises "All the best for your family" and this month, they were right on the money with mama Rachel Griffiths gracing their final cover. While the Australian beauty looks classy and beautiful in the glossy print, it is her outlook on parenting that has me in awe of the career mama. The laid-back yet hardworking mommy shares a beautiful life with her husband, son and two young daughters.

Eric Bana has been on most mama's radars since they saw him in Black Hawk Down. But, many did a double as the actor strutted around ancient Greece in Troy. Any daddy that can steal a scene from a shirtless Brad Pitt makes a definite impression.

Think about all of the places a pacifier falls and what we do to clean them before giving them back to our babes. Now entertain all of the germs that those suckers gather and you may be running out the door to buy the Pipila ($30), the portable pacifier sanitizer that uses UV and ozone rays to kill 99.9 percent of germs.
Introduced in Australia and about to hit the U.S., the Pipila accommodates most pacifier shapes and does not distort the nipple in its cleansing process.

I had heard of water births, home births, c–sections and standard hospital and epidural aided births, but not lotus births. Instead of cutting the umbilical cord after delivery, a lotus birth requires the child stay attached to the placenta until they naturally separate, which takes between three to 10 days.
Mothers tend to the placenta and often create special pouches for it, as it must stay close to the newborn during those postpartum days.

Different cultures celebrate births in various ways. In China, it is common practice for elders to cook chicken and rub the tongue of the bird over the child's lips in hopes of a good talker on her first birthday. Some Indian newborns are dropped off a tower 15 meters high onto a white sheet in hopes of a healthy and strong future.
