Xavier Roberts's chubby faced dolls stole the hearts of most American girls and boys in the '80s and are said to be making a comeback with kids today. So it's only fitting that toy best known for having a signature on its rear has gotten caught up in the hoopla of the presidential election. The special edition Barack Obama, Joe Biden, John McCain and Sara Palin dolls will be auctioned off on Ebay for charity.

Yesterday marked a historic day in American history. No matter how the election pans out, it will be momentous. This was the first time an African American male was a contender on the Democratic ticket, and the first time a female was part of the Republican ticket.

Malia and Sasha Obama will soon be moving into the White House with their brand new puppy, but last night they were just a couple of girls who were proud of their pop. As they took to the Chicago stage, the lil beauties were dressed to the nines. Complementing their mama Michelle's stylish ensemble, Malia wore festive red and Sasha wore classic black.

Kids stay connected on the Internet so it makes sense that the social networking site for small frys (ages 3-12), Kid Zui, is encouraging them to express their political opinions online as well. Minors can cast their vote for the presidency in the mock election as their parents head to the polls. Here are a couple interesting tidbits.

As a kid growing up in the Reagan administration, I couldn't understand why the President was so fond of jelly beans when he could have any candy in the world. But to each his own and as a result, Jelly Belly makes a patriotic mix of their sugary sweets. Voting for the United States Commander in Chief is clearly different from voting for your favorite babysitter. However, I have to think that the person you trust to push the war button might be someone you'd be willing to leave your child with while you enjoy a night on the town.
In the spirit of Super Tuesday, I have to ask, who would you rather babysit your child?

Just six months apart, my husband and I were born under different administrations. I was born under Ford while he slipped into the world six months later during the Carter era. As my due date inches closer, I am praying that my candidate of choice will win so I can say he/she was born during Candidate Y's tenure.
