Are You Satisifed With The Office Series Finale?

After nine seasons at Dunder Mifflin, The Office ended this week with a series finale that was sentimental, tidy, and funny. It picked up one year after last week's episode, and some of the employees had moved on from the office, like Stanley and Kevin, while Jim and Pam were planning their next move. Beloved characters who had left the series came back for cameos, like Kelly and Ryan, but it was the return of Michael Scott that was the best, most moving surprise. I don't even care that the show creators denied it for so long - in Jim's words, it was the best prank ever. From there, the episode piled on the emotion, from Dwight and Angela's wedding to yet another great Jim and Pam moment and an amazing party scene in the office itself. I thought it was the perfect way to close out The Office, but I want to know what you think: did the finale leave you satisfied?

What Do You Think of Postretirement Couples Starting New Families?

When most people think about retirement, they dream of picking up a leisurely new hobby, traveling the globe, or spending more time with their families - but starting a new family of their own? The New York Times reports on the growing number of retired individuals or couples adopting children. Some of the families featured were empty nesters who had already had a "first round" of raising kids, some were taking over for family members who were unable to care for their own children, and still others were first-time parents.

"Children do far better in families than in institutional or temporary care," said Adam Pertman of the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute and author of Adoption Nation. "These are competent, vetted people." The approval process for becoming an adoptive parent is a rigorous one, and the need for qualified families in the US is great. According to federal data, in 2011, more than 50,000 children were adopted with the aid of public child-welfare agencies, with more than 104,000 waiting to be adopted, the Times reported.

Should Giorgio Armani Help Revamp Milan Fashion Week?

In an attempt to revitalize and rework the current state of Milan Fashion Week, Italy's National Chamber of Fashion is calling a public mea culpa, WWD reports. With an uptick in designers opting to show in London and international press leaving Milan early to head to Paris, the need for change is pressing. "If Milan has declined, it's because of everyone's selfishness. We should all be less selfish and more open," said Prada CEO and Chamber Vice President Patrizio Bertelli.

Of course, as with most master plans, there's always a snag, and this one comes courtesy of Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana. The two labels are not currently part of the Chamber, which means there will be some amendments afoot if they don't join the association; namely, they will not be officially included on the Milan Fashion Week calendar going forward. While Dolce & Gabbana has not commented, Giorgio Armani has. The designer voiced his support for bringing Italian designers back to Milan Fashion Week and called the revamp "a good initiative." However, he said he doesn't have current plans to join the Chamber and plans to show his collection on a "strategic" day during MFW. But why not join if you share a common goal?

American Idol crowned R&B singer Candice Glover as its season 12 winner during a live show last night. After months of performing and receiving feedback from the judges, she bested her fellow contestant Kree Harrison, who landed the runner-up spot. The show's finale night was an emotional one, with Candice breaking out into tears when she was announced the winner. There's no denying that both Candice and Kree are talented singers, but was soulful Candice your favorite to win or were you leaning more toward country Kree? Case in point: the designer heralded a new era of Versus Versace and debuted JW Anderson's first capsule collection for the brand last night, and to celebrate, Jaime King, Hayden Panettiere, and Heidi Klum dressed up for the occasion. While both Panettiere and Klum selected dresses from Versace's Spring '13 collection, King took the head-to-toe Versus route. And in doing so, the Hart of Dixie star showed off a much more edged-up, safety-pin-included look. Shia LaBeouf's Short - Directorial Success or Disturbing?

Shia LaBeouf released his latest directorial effort in the form of a short film he created for the band Future Unlimited's song "Haunted Love." The band's singer, David Miller, is featured alongside Shia's real-life love, Mia Goth. Shia himself stars opposite Mia in their upcoming project, Nymphomaniac, which was directed by the provocative Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier. Shia told The New York Times that Lars made casting the short "quiet easy" and that he "found a very special actress in Mia Goth. I pitched it to her on set. She agreed."
