Go Indie, Baby! 6 Online Kids Shops to Bookmark Now

Department stores, big-box retailers, and chain shops are great for stocking up on kids clothes, but indie shops are the best bet when you want to add some pizzazz to your lil one's wardrobe. Designer, eco-friendly, and luxury lines can often mean higher price tags than you'll find at Baby Gap (which we also love, by the way), so now's the time to shop the following six online children's stores. All carry gorgeous clothing and accessories, and most are offering some great Winter sales right now! Click through to see six of our favorite indie shops for little hipsters and their parents!

Sweet William

Sweet William

Sweet William has brick-and-mortar locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan, but you can get all the big-time little style online. The shop carries high-quality independent designers and clothes predominantly made from organic materials. Green looks superhip in the hands of labels like Popupshop, Shampoodle, and Atsuyo et Akiko. The site is currently hosting a sale with 40% off all Fall/Winter merchandise!

Thumbeline

Thumbeline

Celebrating all that is "delightful, unusual, and oddball in the world of children's fashion and design," Thumbeline is perfect for future hipsters — or just for all of you hip parents. We're flipping for tiny, stylish designs from Antik Batik, Wovenplay, and Tutu du Monde (shown here).

Smallable

Smallable

Smallable is one of the coolest fashion and design concept stores around, and despite the fact it's based in Europe, it is truly global. The online shop carries fashion, furniture, toys, and books for kids from infant to 12 years old. Smallable gives you access to more than 200 brands from across the globe (everything from Isabel Marant and Stella McCartney to Aden + Anais and Dwell Studio), some of which are exclusively sold on the site. The shop is so hip that it even has its own magazine!

Darling Clementine

Darling Clementine

Online shop Darling Clementine offers a great selection of superstylish, eco-friendly clothing and kids products like storage bins, bedding, and books. Going with the Earth-friendly theme, the shop carries lots of local Brooklyn and New York brands, including Oeuf, and also some of our other kiddie favorites, like Wolfechild, Ferm Living, and Moulin Roty.

La-Di-Da

La-Di-Da

La-Di-Da might have a brick-and-mortar store in Lakewood, NJ, but the online shop features some of the most sought-after European brands around, including Bonpoint, Louis Louise, and La Miniatura, along with some of our longtime favorites, like Appaman, Bobo Choses, and Egg Baby. Shop now, when everything is on major sale, up to 70% off!

Wee Mondine

Wee Mondine

Mom and fashion buyer Elizabeth Crosby was frustrated when searching for stylish, high-quality clothes for her little ones that would last through generations, and lucky for us, she turned that frustration into new online boutique Wee Mondine. The shop was inspired by European brands but carries an equal number of stateside labels. Look for some of our favorites, including Zuzii, Indikidual, and Nununu.
