The 2011 Grammy Award nominees were announced last night, and there were plenty of songs about love lost, found, and picked up again in the nomination pool. Depending on the relationship sentiment, some of these lyrics elicit an "aw, snap!" response, while others more of an "awwww." I've picked a few of the best naughty and nice lyrics from the bunch; let's see who's getting a lump of coal this Christmas!

The Black Eyed Peas, Green Day, and Britney Spears were the most popular suggestions, but we got some lesser known tunes, too. Tell your partner to park it in the passenger's seat. Sixty percent of British tots said they preferred mom to take the wheel, rather than dad. The survey, conducted by the GEM automotive safety group, spoke to 1,279 kids and found that traditional stereotypes prevail when women and men get in the car, with lil ones claiming that their mamas drive more slowly, are more relaxed and are less likely to have road rage or change lanes.

As any mom without an in-vehicle DVD player already knows, she is also the primary entertainer while on the road. Seventy percent of tots tattled that their mother sings while driving so we rounded up songs that will get the entire family belting out tunes.

Who's the primary driver in your family?

Cover songs typically get a bad rap, but every once and a while a remake of a catchy track comes along that's worthy of its predecessor. (Just take Sinead O'Connor's version of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U," for instance).

Kelly Clarkson did her own renditions of The White Stripes's "Seven Nation Army" and Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" in concert earlier this week, and her samplings weren't half bad. (Check 'em out here). It got me thinking about the other great remakes out there — I'm a big fan of Cat Powers's cover albums, Sia's "Gimme More," and even some of the takes on Rihanna's "Umbrella" that ran rampant two years ago, like Mandy Moore's.
