Would You Have a Postbaby Boob Job?

When I had my C-section, my mom (who had two of her own) told me her only regret after having my brother was that she didn't request a tummy tuck after delivery, a somewhat shocking statement from my totally low-key, nonvain mother.

When I had my C-section, my mom (who had two of her own) told me her only regret after having my brother was that she didn't request a tummy tuck after delivery, a somewhat shocking statement from my totally low-key, nonvain mother. Of course, back then, I was still operating under the illusion that my body would snap back to its prepregnancy state within a few months and my formally flat abs would return with little to no effort. Now, nine and a half months later, I'm still holding on to seven pounds of baby weight. Despite working out three to four times a week, I'm sporting stretch marks that, for some reason, only affected my left side, and I'm still trying to embrace my other pregnancy parting gifts: back fat, wider hips, and flattened chest — one side effect I totally didn't expect!

Considering I've always been very small-chested, I didn't think pregnancy and breastfeeding would take too big of a toll, but going from an A cup to a C+, then back again, has not been pretty, and suddenly, I'm thinking a boob job might not be a bad idea. Are you on the same page as me? Would you consider a postbaby breast lift or implants? Weigh in below!

Would You Get a Mommy Makeover?

A friend of mine attended an event at her son's preschool where she was seated with his classmate's moms.

A friend of mine attended an event at her son's preschool where she was seated with his classmate's moms. As the night wore on, the table conversation got a bit more brazen and several of the women started commenting on another mom's amazing figure. Consensus of opinion was that this mom of three had a Mommy Makeover, otherwise known as a breast lift, tummy tuck, and liposuction. While some of the ladies scoffed, several said the plastic surgeon will be on their call list as soon as they deliver their final babies. They can't wait to get back to their pre-baby bodies.

If money were no object, would you consider a Mommy Makeover?

Good Idea or Bad Idea: "Mommy Makeover"

Have you heard of the "mommy makeover"?

Have you heard of the "mommy makeover"? It's a triple whammy under the knife including a breast lift with or without breast implants, a tummy tuck and some liposuction for women after giving birth. Pregnancy obviously takes a toll on your body, but some women are actually feeling resentful of their kids for their post pregnancy flaws.

According to the New York Times, last year, doctors nationwide performed more than 325,000 “mommy makeover procedures” on women ages 20 to 39, up 11 percent from 2005. While these surgeries are comforting for some women out there, others are feeling the "mommy makeover" as added pressure to be thin, perfect and "back to normal" after giving birth. The New York Times article quotes one mother, Karen Murphy, as saying: "Badges of motherhood have turned into badges of shame and, if you’re the one caught without a tummy tuck, then you won’t get invited to the party." So ladies, what I want to know is, do you think it's a good idea or a bad idea to have such surgeries for new mothers? Do you think there should be such emphasis placed on one's looks after giving birth or do you think a mom should be more concerned about her baby than her body?
