Little Titans Tights For Boys: Ga Ga or Gag?

Who said tights are just for girls?

Who said tights are just for girls? Certainly not Brit brand Little Titans, which launched a line of tights made just for boys ages 0-3 late last year. Founder Carly Hardy loved dressing her first-born Matilda in baby tights, but when little brother Kit arrived, Carly found there was no little-boy equivalent — and "'Tilda's old polka dots and candy stripes didn't quite fit the bill." So Carly designed her own line of quirky boy tights, made from high-quality combed cotton and featuring creative designs made to "feed little imaginations." Current designs include superhero- and footballer- (that's a soccer player, for non-Anglophiles) inspired tights, along with striped green, gray, and blue tights with contrast-color knee pads. Each pair features nonslip soles, sells for around $23, and comes in the cutest little box we've ever seen (seriously, these have baby shower gift written all over them!).

So what do you think? Can you get on board with tights for little boys? Or should girls have a monopoly on that particular clothing category? Weigh in below.

Ever/After's Soft Staples For Cool Kids

Sometimes, it's the simplest things that make the biggest impact.

Sometimes, it's the simplest things that make the biggest impact. A one-stop shop offering supersoft cotton staples for the entire family, ever/after is free of ruffles, frills, buttons, and embellishments, and that's what makes it shine.

Founded three years ago by husband-and-wife duo Gary and Christy Winston, ever/after was born shortly after the arrival of the Winstons' daughter, Ever. Burnt out by the fast pace of their careers in fashion, Gary and Christy said farewell to corporate America and began their quest to design the perfect tee. The entire line — which caters to men, women, boys, and girls — is constructed from the softest pima cotton fabric, and a generous percentage of sales are given back to those in need through the brand's "Change the Story" program.

ChaLK NYC, the brainchild of designer Colleen Crivello, is a collection of leather, fur, silk, and knit apparel for girls ages 2-10. "It's luxury with an edge," Crivello said at the CHaLK launch party this week. The designer applies the same principles from her background in womenswear to her pieces for children, resulting in beautifully detailed and completely unique looks for little ones.

VeryMeri's Kid Designs For a Cause

We're all about encouraging kids' creativity at home, but why not take it one step further?

We're all about encouraging kids' creativity at home, but why not take it one step further? That's exactly what brand-new company VeryMeri, a design platform and retail site featuring products and content made by kids for kids, is doing. Founded by Meri Zeiff Cherry, an elementary school teacher who was inspired by the negative messages she saw on many of her students' clothing, VeryMeri's goal is "to advocate social responsibility and entrepreneurship in young children, inspiring them to use their creativity to create positive thinking and awareness among their peers and the community around them." And let's not forget, to create some very cute kiddie wares in the process!

Here's how it works: children design and submit artwork, VeryMeri enters that art into an online contest, and winning designs, voted on by the public, are included in the VeryMeri line of T-shirts, hoodies, and accessories. The pieces ($18-$39) are sold online, and five percent of sales go to benefit the young designer's charity of choice or the brand's national charitable partner, The Art of Elysium. The first collection includes nine t-shirt designs, two hoodies, two iPad sleeves, and three slap watches, all featuring bright colors and messages of love, joy, and fun. Check out the very first VeryMeri collection now, and who knows, maybe your child's design will be in the next!

Most every mama we know has relied on The Children's Place for its affordable selection of kids' basics. Now the brand's former CEO, Ezra Dabah, has a new children's line, Ruum American Kid's Wear, and it's about as versatile as they come. We previewed Ruum's Summer collection today and found a wide array of both classic and trend-driven pieces with kid-friendly elements galore — think (subtle) elastic waistbands, supersoft cotton tees, ruffly tote bags, and bright, bold striped polos.

There are currently 22 Ruum locations across the country (the brand purchased all of the assets from American Eagle's now-defunct 77Kids and is now operating out of its former locations), with more openings to follow. If there isn't yet a store in your area, you can still shop online. Check out our top 10 picks available on the site now!
