Get a Sneak Peek of New Indian Import Kids' Line Rayil

Need something to look forward to after the holiday rush?

Need something to look forward to after the holiday rush? Then mark your calendars for Feb. 10, 2013, when new kids' line Rayil will begin shipping its beautiful, Indian-inspired wares (now available for preorder). The line is a collaboration between Los Angeles-based entrepreneur Aruna Hatti (the founder of Gnaana, a company that works to connect kids with the Indian culture) and Moutushi Sarkar, a fashion designer based in New Delhi who has worked for Urban Outfitters, Esprit, and Miss Selfridge. Hatti was inspired to create the line by memories of her own mother's beautiful saris and India's rich fabric history.

Each season, Rayil will showcase a selection of India's 300-plus varieties of cotton and silk in a range of kid-friendly but beautifully and intricately constructed tunics, dresses, pants, scarves, and more. For its debut Spring 2013 collection, expect to see pieces made from Benarasi silk from North India, Chanderi silk from Central India, and cotton Khadi, a fabric made popular by Gandhi. While the fabric history is impressive, the designs are even more so. Keep clicking to check out some of our favorites, and take a journey to Rayil's India!

Oscar de la Renta Debuts Full Childrenswear Collection at New York Fashion Week Show

Floral and eyelet dresses shared the runway with stripes and plaids at Oscar de la Renta's Spring 2013 runway show yesterday.

Floral and eyelet dresses shared the runway with stripes and plaids at Oscar de la Renta's Spring 2013 runway show yesterday. And while that might sound like the usual fare for the legendary designer, the models were anything but typical — they were about two feet shorter than those who walked the New York Fashion Week runway the day prior, and several made their way across the runway pulled in wagons, riding on scooters, and holding skateboards.

For his first full childrenswear collection (the pint-size label launched this past Spring with a stunning flower girl collection), de la Renta created a springtime garden party filled with traditional sundresses, hand-crocheted jackets, and appliquéd flowers for lil girls, and colorful layered looks of button-down shirts, striped sweaters, and cotton shorts for boys. Designed by Catherine Monteiro de Barros, who previously founded and ran the popular high-end Portuguese children's brand Papo d'Anjo, the collection was packed with classic styles reminiscent of the label's adult pieces — a point that was certainly noticed by de la Renta himself, who stood to the side of the runway nodding his approval as each tot took a turn on the catwalk. Keep reading to see the Spring collection for yourself.

Fashion designer and style legend Cynthia Rowley took a minute out of her crazy

Fashion designer and style legend Cynthia Rowley took a minute out of her crazy Fashion Week schedule to talk to us about her new, more accessible, and definitely "scaled-down" line, DreamPop by Cynthia R., now available at JC Penney for girls 7-16.

"I have two young daughters and when shopping with them, I've always had a hard time finding things," Cynthia told us. "I think this is the age where girls start wanting to express themselves through clothes." And they'll certainly be able to with DreamPop's collection of colorful and printed denim, sequined tees and skirts, and ruffled and metallic embellishments. Check Out One Jackson, the First Crowd-Sourced Kids' Clothes!

If you're anything like me, then shopping for your kids — like shopping for yourself — can be frustrating: you know what you're looking for, but you just can't find it!

If you're anything like me, then shopping for your kids — like shopping for yourself — can be frustrating: you know what you're looking for, but you just can't find it! Enter One Jackson, a new stop for outfitting hip kids. The first-ever crowd-sourced children's clothing line, One Jackson — which makes its debut today — is kind of Project Runway meets Fashion Star for your little ones. Here's how it works: the One Jackson team researches trends and parent needs to create an inspiration board for each line (there will be eight to 10 each year), then enlists designers to submit looks for a design challenge. It's then up to customers (i.e. you) to pick your favorites and vote.

After the results are in, One Jackson produces the most popular pieces using quality materials and manufacturing (the line is made in factories that also work for Tory Burch, Theory, and Rag & Bone!), putting them on the company's site for a limited run of four to eight weeks. Pieces will be available as separates, or you can buy a whole outfit for a discounted price. The first line is boys only, but don't despair, moms of girls. Your ladies will be getting their own One Jackson collection soon.

Trendtotting: Tori Spelling to Relaunch Little Maven Clothing Line (Now For Babies)

It's been a year since Tori Spelling shut the door on her Little Maven line of playground-ready children's clothes.

It's been a year since Tori Spelling shut the door on her Little Maven line of playground-ready children's clothes. In that time, she's given birth to her third child, Hattie, announced her pregnancy with her fourth, filmed another season of Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, and written a party-planning book. To say she needed another task on her to-do list would be crazy, but today Spelling announced that she's preparing to relaunch Little Maven as a clothing label for newborns, infants, and toddlers.

Little Maven by Tori Spelling — with layette for newborn to 9 months and playwear for 6 to 24 months — is set to launch on Sept. 1 exclusively at JC Penney stores and online. Similar in style to her previous designs for toddlers and young kids, the new pieces reflect Spelling's affinity for bright colors, prints, and patterns. Expect tunic and legging sets featuring zigzag stripes, jumpsuits, sleepers with snap-on bibs, furry vests, and three-piece cardigan sets, all priced from $12 to $20. Given Liam and Stella's trendy styles, we're pretty sure this new line will be a hit with moms and kids alike!
