International Product Envy: Baby Bjorn High Chair

There are high chairs, and then there are child chairs with flair!

There are high chairs, and then there are child chairs with flair! As baby product manufacturers move to more decor-friendly designs, mama finds herself wanting to swap out items she already has.

BabyBjörn, a brand known for its minimalist and functional design now offers a high chair. The sleek, black and white molded seat forgoes the typical fabric harness, using a foldable table (otherwise known as a tray) that locks into place to secure tots in the chair. The lack of harness makes it easy to wipe down and eliminates the cruddy fabric that just never seems clean. Unfortunately, like many products we envy from afar the seat is not available stateside yet, but if you are intrigued by the design, check out the similar Nano that is sold here.

Elegant High Chairs: Ga Ga or Gag?

Having your lil one eat in high style has never been easier.

Having your lil one eat in high style has never been easier. Baby stores are filled with design-winning high chairs to ensure that new eaters' seats don't look anything like the one's their mamas sat in. Parents-to-be looking for high-end chairs can find a variety of modern designs, but few choices to may match traditional decor.

Nicole Reid's collection of wooden high chairs may make traditionalists swoon. The hand-carved, solid kiln dried Mahogany chairs are made to order to complement a home's decor. After choosing either an oval or sleigh-shaped chair, parents select a stain that matches the rest of their dining chairs, a fabric back (that can be embroidered with a child's name) and then a leather-like vinyl drop-in seat that is easily removed for clean up. Such customization comes at a price though, the seats start at $775.

Minui HandySitt Is a Pretty Sweet Seat

Detest the idea of a high chair nestled in the corner of a dining room?

Detest the idea of a high chair nestled in the corner of a dining room? Or maybe a toddler has outgrown the starter seat, but still has a tough time reaching the table? The Minui Handysitt ($149) can solve both of those problems. In search of a new high chair, I was stoked when I was asked to test the swanky Danish designed invention. Aside from the attractive modern appeal, the nifty gadget is easily stored it in a flat compact space, pops on any chair with a back and quickly adjusts to suit the child's height. The flat back keeps tots bellied up to the table in perfect posture and allows them to join the conversation and look down on their food instead of grazing it from eye level. Compact Zzapper High Chair: Ga Ga or Gag?

Who doesn't appreciate parents trying to add modern flair to their kid-friendly abodes and prohibit heinous plastics from their living rooms?

Who doesn't appreciate parents trying to add modern flair to their kid-friendly abodes and prohibit heinous plastics from their living rooms? But, do some items push the envelope? Though the Compact Care electric green wooden Zzapper high chair would be ideal for Judy Jetson and moms with similar decor taste, other parents may find the design and its $818 price tag far less palatable — especially when the Stokke Svan has a strong resemblance for $260.
