Seeing Double, Rebecca Romijn Chimes in on Dressing Twins

Double dressing? Lots of moms outfit their adorable duos in identical attire, but actress Rebecca Romijn isn't one of them.

Double dressing? Lots of moms outfit their adorable duos in identical attire, but actress Rebecca Romijn isn't one of them. When we asked if she dressed her daughters alike, she said:

I like to coordinate them, but I don't like to match them. It's funny because I know they are seconds away from having very strong opinions on what they wear so I'm taking advantage of these last few months where I dress them how I want. I usually give them choices and say, "Do you want to wear this or that?" and they pick.

The model mom said comfort and ease are the priorities when outfitting Dolly and Charlie O'Connell. The twins also like to check out what apparel their mama is sporting — especially her shoe selection! Seventy-one percent of LilSugar readers aren't fans of family dressing, but what's your opinion on multiples dressed to match?

Check out the secret Rebecca and her husband are keeping from their twins and her answers to our four Lil questions on motherhood!

Sonia Rykiel Extends H&M Line For Tots

Mommy and me dressing appears to be gaining popularity.

Mommy and me dressing appears to be gaining popularity. While some designers have been creating the look for years, family dressing recently took center stage on Project Runway and is now filling displays at H&M stores across the country.

Sonia Rykiel, the Paris-based "Queen of Knits," is returning to her roots in her new partnership with discount fashion store H&M. The designer, who started her line when she was pregnant and couldn't find comfortable sweaters to cover her growing bump, just introduced her Spring collection for H&M, including a handful of precious designs for tots (18 months to 8 years). The black, yellow, hot pink and baby pink pieces ($4 - $70 each) feature feminine details, such as ruffles and bows that match mama's pieces in the collection.

Check out the entire children's line below and let us know what you think!

Mommy and Me Designs Straight Off Project Runway

The "mommy and me" matching clothing look has a dedicated following in some circles.
Mother Daughter Looks From Project Runway

The "mommy and me" matching clothing look has a dedicated following in some circles. Pint-sized versions of grown up clothes can make a lil one feel sophisticated while allowing mama to dress her daughter in clothes that truly reflect her style. On last night's Project Runway, the designers were tasked with creating looks for little girls – a challenge that sent some contestants into a tizzy. Throwing a last-minute twist into the episode, Tim Gunn then told the designers to create complementary outfits for the girls' mothers. Take a look at the designs and tell me which you like best. I'll tell you which one won and which designer had to say "auf Wiedersehen."

Celebaby Style: Inadvertently Matching Mama and Tot

Picking out outfits for both you and your tots can be a chore when you really need to dash out the door.

Picking out outfits for both you and your tots can be a chore when you really need to dash out the door. It's no wonder that almost 75 percent of lilsugar readers said they unintentionally dress like their tykes given that we tend to outfit our offspring in clothes of our choosing.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz seemed to succumb to this trend when heading to the Sea Cliffs exhibit at the LA Zoo this week.  Their black and white ensembles extended beyond little Bronx's attire and into their stroller choice.  Check out how you can achieve this black and white family dressing theme below.

Cut Picnic Costs by Tossing Household Items in the Basket

The point of a picnic is to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors with the family.

The point of a picnic is to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors with the family. I am an admitted foodie, but not going to break the bank by packing a gourmet meal for our afternoon adventures with the kids. They dine and dash toward the swings leaving my husband and I to scarf up what we can before chasing them around. Leave the fine dining to date night and use existing household items for a day on the grass with the tots.

  • Grocery bags — If they're good enough to bring food home from the store, they'll serve well for toting it to the park, too. They also double as trash and recycling receptacles.
  • Finery — I keep take-out utensils for these occasions. If it's not too much trouble, you can also bring along your own silverware and wash it at home later.
  • Blanket — Instead of packing a fancy throw for the occasion, use an old moving blanket (like those used by U-Haul or moving companies) and a sheet. A heavy moving blanket will stay in place and absorb any wetness from dew or rain and can unfold for seating many. Bring along paperclips and attach an old sheet for a soft and cheery appearance.
  • Old containers — Pack sandwiches, veggies, fruits, and other delectable snacks in rinsed out containers. Refill reusable bottles with water and juices instead of buying new ones.
  • Games — Bring along a bevvy of games to humor the whole family. Blow bubbles, throw dice, doodle with chalk, or fly a kite!
  • Music — Bring the noise and the funk! Don't fret if you're iPodless, make your own music with cups, tubs, or a guitar for those who are musically inclined!

Preppy chic never goes out of style and after 50 years of "Palm Beach" socialite design, Lilly Pulitzer is celebrating its golden jubilee with some of our favorite mamas. The company worked with nine celebrity moms to create "Mommy and Me" looks for bathing suits, tunics, dresses and tops featuring the design house's famed patterned prints. Perfect for Mother's Day, or Summer picnics, the garments reflect Lilly Pulitzer's classic silhouettes.

Among the famous mommies involved in the collection are Gwyneth Paltrow (whose bathing suits are featured here), Brooke Shields, Angie Harmon, Bridget Moynahan, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Marcia Cross and Debra Messing. A portion of the Mommy and Me collection sales will benefit EBMRF, a non-profit organization devoted to finding the cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare skin condition.
