Fashion In 50 Seconds 01/23/09 Menswear News & More

Kayne West is designing a range of sneakers for Louis Vuitton and yesterday's menswear show marked their first catwalk appearance... Toy Box: Small World Toys Mixes It Up

Finding a modern day family that reflects the Leave It to Beaver image is extremely rare.

Finding a modern day family that reflects the Leave It to Beaver image is extremely rare. Given every family is made up of different races, sexual preferences and ideals, I think it's important to teach your children about diversity from the get-go. Next time you're shopping for dolls for your children, consider integrating diversity into their play life.

Small World Toys has quite an assortment of dolls to create a colorful play land. By surrounding your child with an African–American family, an Asian–American brood, a Modern crew, and a Hispanic familia, you'll be giving your child a head start on the world before him. The $20 wooden sets can serve as a launching pad to educate your tot about various cultures and ethnicities while having fun all at once.

Should the Color of Your Skin Play a Role in Adopting?

People claim to be "colorblind," to have the ability to look beyond the color of flesh.

People claim to be "colorblind," to have the ability to look beyond the color of flesh. But some believe a better vision is to have "color consciousness" to identify and celebrate the differences in other cultures and histories.

When it comes to adoption, the North American Council on Adoptable Children, the Child Welfare League of America, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, and the National Association of Black Social Workers all backed a proposal by the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute calling for an amendment to the 1994 Multi-Ethnic Placement Act so race could be considered as a factor in selecting parents for children from foster care. The change also would allow race-oriented training prior to adoption.

Do you think children should be paired with people who share their same skin color?
