Backseat bickering bugs just about every mother, but when a Manhattan lawyer had enough of her quarreling daughters, she kicked them out of the car and drove off. Madlyn Primoff, 45, dropped her tweens in a shopping district three miles from their home on Sunday night and has since pleaded not guilty to child endangerment.

One report said:

Police would not say if Primoff ever returned to look for the girls, but they said, without explaining how, that the 12-year-old eventually caught up with the mother. The 10-year-old was found by a "Good Samaritan" on the street, upset and emotional about losing her mother, police said.

The girl gave police her mother's name and their address in well-to-do Scarsdale, and they asked Scarsdale police to check Primoff's $2 million house. Shortly afterward, Primoff called Scarsdale police from home to say the 10-year-old was missing, said Scarsdale Detective Lt. Bryant Clark.

Do you sympathize with Primoff for trying to end the car quarrel or do you believe she should be charged?

It seems some parents think stealing is more fun than taking their tots to the park. In the second case I've come across in the past week, an innocent child became an unwilling accomplice in his parent's illegal activities. A 2-year-old boy was left behind at the scene of a robbery when his pregnant mother and her expectant friend fled after being caught breaking into an apartment. The women have been brought up on multiple charges including robbery, larceny, and child abuse.

It's bad to be a thief, but being a terrible father is unforgivable. Twenty-eight-year-old Justin Black is both. He used his 2-year-old as a decoy to steal goods from a Wal-Mart store with an accomplice. While Black was running to avoid security, he fell on his tot and then took off in a car without securing his child. All this for a couple of video games and about $200 worth of merchandise. He was later arrested at home and the toddler is safe with his mother. I hope the judge throws the book at this bad dad.

A thirsty three-year-old girl overdosed on GHB, also known as the "Date Rape" drug after mistaking it for water. The preschooler and her older sister had accompanied their mother to a National City apartment to score drugs.

There, the tot drank what appeared to be bottled water. The near fatal mistake landed the youngster in the hospital, her mother in jail and her sister at a relative's place.
