OnSugar Blog: Homemade Designer Burp Cloths

Lots of moms think out loud, and SugarKat does too.

Lots of moms think out loud, and SugarKat does too. Baby Burp Cloths comes from the Crafty McCrafterson blog at OnSugar.

I have a bunch of fabric that I bought thinking I was going to make blankets and stuff, but really, I'm not there yet.  So, I bought some diaper burp cloths and decided to dress them up with some snugly flannel fabric.

What you'll need:

  • Iron
  • Fabric
  • Sewing Machine with thread
  • Burp Cloths
  1. Measure out the fabric with the burp cloth
  2. Cut the fabric and fold the edges and iron
  3. Sew the edges to the burp cloth
  4. Cut the strings and voila!
  5. Then make more and they will make great shower gifts for expecting moms!

Mommy's Lil Helper: Wink Wink Baby Burp Cloths

I've seen my fair share of cute burp clothes with pom poms, chic fabric, and monograms .

I've seen my fair share of cute burp clothes with pom poms, chic fabric, and monograms . . . yawn. The burp cloths from Wink Wink Baby ($15) are refreshingly unique, witty, and fill a void in the spitup department. Taking a cue from pop culture, the spit rags read: "Spit Me Baby One More Time," "Peas Out," and "Sir Burps-a-Lot." It's hard to enjoy cottage-cheesy mess, but at least we can laugh at what's catching it! Crafted from 100 percent cotton cloth diapers, the embroidered towels are absorbent and machine washable, which is important when vomit is a daily, if not hourly, routine.

Once baby arrives, parents get potty mouth.

Once baby arrives, parents get potty mouth. Words like "poop", "pee" and "spit up" fuel entire conversations. Though just about every mom and dad freely discusses the bodily fluids of their babe, would you go as far as to decorate with the terms? Plain Mary offers a Gross Burp Set ($40) of cloths embroidered with the words "poop", "tinkle", "gross" and "puke". Would you buy them?
