Shopping for a baby shower gift can be more difficult than you might think. If you're not in a position to buy those big-ticket bedding sets, monitors, or furniture items, you're usually left with a ton of inexpensive items that really don't feel gift-worthy on their own. While creating your own gift set with a variety of little items like onesies, toys, blankets, and books is a good idea, we have an even better one: pick up a premade gift basket made by a totally on-trend kid company like The Land of Nod or DwellStudio. We found seven gift baskets that will ensure your present is the hit of the baby shower! Keep clicking for the one that works best for the mom-to-be.
For some moms-to-be, there's something just slightly uncomfortable about specifying a "wish list" for friends and family to gift you and your new baby with. People expect it, though, and if you're having a shower, it's almost necessary to create a registry to ensure that you don't end up with a stack of identical baby blankets or frilly, feminine nursery decor for what you were envisioning as an ultramodern baby room.
The trick is to look at creating a registry as doing your loved ones a favor. They're not required to abide by it, but if they want to give you something special, and need some guidance, it's there. Alternative registries have become increasingly popular over the past few years, and the best thing about them is that they offer a wider breadth of options than heading to a single store. Here, six unexpected registry spots that we think are worth a click through — including one that's geared specifically toward Pinterest addicts (you know who you are!).

Vera Bradley fans take note: the design house known for its colorful fabrics, unique prints, and quilted cotton luggage is expecting a new arrival March 14 — a baby collection! After 30 years of designing feminine-looking luggage, handbags, accessories, and diaper bags, the company is expanding its line to include a collection for baby girls based on a new book written and illustrated by the designer's daughter called Bunny and Bear. The pink-filled line will be available in two patterns, Lily Bell and Tutti Frutti, and will include everything from a dress and bloomers, blankets, bibs, rattles, pacifier pods, and bottle caddies.
We got a sneak peek at the line yesterday and can honestly say that the loveys, blankets, and clothes are some of the softest we've ever felt, and the packaging — boxes made to look like cardboard changing tables, cribs, and wardrobes — is perfect for gift-giving. And if Vera Bradley in your nursery isn't enough, the company also announced a new collaboration with Tiny Prints for a collection of birth announcements, baby shower invitations, and personalized stationery to coordinate with the new patterns.

It's official! The news the world's been waiting for since their wedding last April, Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting their first child! The announcement, which was released by St. James Palace, read:
Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news. The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum [morning sickness]. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.
