Sneak Peek: H&M's New All For Children Charity Collection Is Full of Sophisticated Surprises

There's nothing better than knowing that your purchases are helping a cause.

There's nothing better than knowing that your purchases are helping a cause. Last year, we didn't think things could get any better than H&M's All For Children collection, but that's because we hadn't seen this year's designs. On Oct. 18, the Swedish retailer will introduce its 2012 All For Children collection to benefit UNICEF at 300 stores worldwide.

While the collection includes dressed-up designs like a pink bow-detail dress, a fake-fur necktie coat, and printed tops for girls, as well as blazers and colorblocked sweaters for boys, it's the costumes and fantasy pieces that we're drooling over now. Wizard hats, magic wands, rabbit ears (and scarves), and flamingo heads are the perfect Halloween accessories for kids who don't want to go the commercial route this year. And the wall stickers and playbook just add to the fun.

As it did last year, H&M will donate 25 percent of the sale of each garment to UNICEF's work in Bangladesh to promote education and improve children's health in the slum areas around Dhaka, including those that help make the discount department store's clothes.

To help kick off the collection, H&M will host celebratory events in New York and Chicago on Oct. 18 and in Los Angeles on Oct. 20, with food, music, face painting, and the opportunity for kids to create their own iconic UNICEF Trick or Treat boxes.

Keep reading for a sneak peek at the collection, and visit H&M's site for more details about the initiative.

William and Kate Come Out For Africa in Denmark

Prince William and Kate Middleton visited a UNICEF food bank in Copenhagen today, with Denmark's Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark.

Prince William and Kate Middleton visited a UNICEF food bank in Copenhagen today, with Denmark's Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark. The UNICEF center distributes emergency food and medical supplies to East Africa, a place close to the Duke and Duchess as they became engaged in Kenya. The four royals, including Kate's counterpart of sorts, Princess Mary, who will one day be queen of Denmark, were greeted with flowers by young girls and offered to taste the vitamin paste that the center distributes in emergencies. They also watched this video about the crisis.

Clarence House, the private office for Prince Charles, Prince Harry, and Prince William and Kate Middleton, uploaded photos from the event on its Twitter account and quoted Kate as saying, "We hope this will put the light back on this crisis." Right now, 13 million people are impacted from the famine crisis and 320,000 malnourished children are at risk of dying. See photos from their visit to UNICEF center, which is trying to do something about it, now.

H&M UNICEF Kids Collection

Get ready to squeeze into your kids' clothes — all for a good cause! Next month H&M will introduce a collection of tot-sized pieces that will benefit UNICEF's All For Children initiative. The contemporary collection of pieces for babies through kids wear size 8, takes its cues from classic children's styles, including boys and girls pieces in Fall's muted nude, mole, and coral tones. The on-trend designs will not only appeal to tots, but to their mamas too.

From sailor-striped tops to retro-inspired sweaters and dresses, the collection is based on an original children's book illustrated just for H&M. Moritz! is a text-less picture book featuring a lamb, a mouse, and a kitten in various situations. The characters' clothes and the book itself are all included in the All For Children collection.

Twenty-five percent of the sale of each garment will go directly to the charitable program that benefits families in the world's poorest communities, including those that help make the discount department store's clothes. The Rodarte sisters also recently announced they have designed ballet costumes for Darren Aronofsky's film, "Black Swan," a thriller starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis as competing ballerinas. The movie includes dances from "Swan Lake," for which the Mulleavys designed the stage costumes.

Emma Watson = Fashion Designer?

UPDATE: Sadly, Emma Watson reps have shut down any rumors of Watson designing a clothing line.

UPDATE: Sadly, Emma Watson reps have shut down any rumors of Watson designing a clothing line. I guess it was too good to be true . . .

Burberry hottie, Emma Watson, is rumored to be adding celebrity designer to her hefty resume. Word has it the actress is "getting advice from her fashion designer pals" on a clothing collection that will donate proceeds to children's charity fund, UNICEF. There's no doubt the budding stylista has an immaculate sense of style, but can that be translated into a clothing line? We'll let you be the judge.

Parents everywhere are seeking ways to save on everyday costs and cutting back on excess spending, but there are some necessities we can't raise families without. That's why we are thrilled our friends at Pampers are offering one very lucky lilsugar reader a year's supply of Pampers (that's coupons for 50 packages)! As an added humanitarian bonus, Pampers will donate the cost of 50 tetanus vaccines to the US Fund for UNICEF through the One Pack = One Vaccine campaign. The effort is part of a global initiative with UNICEF to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus (MNT), a preventable disease that claims the lives of approximately 128,000 infants and 30,000 mothers in less industrialized nations each year — that’s approximately one death every four minutes. What's better than caring for your child and other children in need of your support?
