Jennifer Aniston's film Just Go With It was the big winner at the weekend box office, but that hasn't slowed down her press obligations. The newly turned 42-year-old actress appeared on The Rachael Ray Show recently to chat with the host about a variety of topics during an interview that airs tomorrow. The ladies chatted about Jen's milestone birthday, which she celebrated with famous pals like Jake Gyllenhaal and Adam Sandler, as well as what she'd do if she wasn't an actress. Jennifer said:

  • Jen on her age: "All of a sudden you're labeled, you're a number. . . It wasn't like 30-plus or 30 something. It's just that all of sudden, it's like, 'Wow for your age, not so bad.' It's like what?"
  • What she would do if she wasn't an actress: "You know what, I would be a party planner! Why do I want to be a doctor? That's so depressing, leave that to the professionals. I haven't even played one of those on TV! I would want to be a party planner. I love planning a party, I love mixing people together. I love getting the food ready, it's just fun. And people always have a good time."

Salma Hayek Doesn't Let Valentina Cry It Out

Compassionate mama Salma Hayek, who made headlines when she breastfed a sick and starving baby, passed on a motherly tip this morning on the Rachel Ray Show.

Compassionate mama Salma Hayek, who made headlines when she breastfed a sick and starving baby, passed on a motherly tip this morning on the Rachel Ray Show. When asked about the best advice she was given in raising her 1-year-old daughter, Valentina Pinault, the actress passed on words of wisdom from her own mother. She said:

Everybody tells you what to do and everybody contradicts each other and it drives you mad. Put her in the bassinet or the cradle to sleep. Stick her in there, let her cry. Everybody was telling me this, but I wasn't doing it. She (my mother) said to me always put your baby to sleep because one day you are going to wish you could do that — that you could hold her in your arms and put her to sleep. You know, I put my baby to sleep every night and I love that moment even though sometimes it takes hours. But I do enjoy it very, very much.

Do you agree with Salma's attachment parenting approach rather than using the cry-it-out method?

Kate Gosselin Talks Marriage and Motherhood on Rachael Ray

Perhaps what is most refreshing (or infuriating) to fellow moms is that Kate Gosselin makes no apology for her personality.

Perhaps what is most refreshing (or infuriating) to fellow moms is that Kate Gosselin makes no apology for her personality. Only a brave, confident and honest woman would allow for the cameras to roll through the good and the bad — the realities of family life. And, maybe that's why so many mamas are drawn to the TLC show, Jon and Kate Plus 8. On Wednesday, Kate taped an episode of The Rachael Ray Show, which will air next Tuesday and talked openly about her current situation. Here are the highlights of Kate's interview:
On the tabloid reports:
"It's one of those things that we're just handling privately. We're just taking it one step at a time and I'm trying to walk through it."
On if she saw it coming:
"Certainly none of this could have been predicted. Now going into our fifth season, we have stepped back and realized that it is part of this process, and I always say there's really never any going back. We just need to go forward. That is my new saying -- just keep on marching through this. Just doing what we need to."
On her focus:
"I know that I’m continuing on as I am the best mom I know how to be and that's really where my focus is. I really try not to let any of that stuff that comes with it get to me."
On the way she is portrayed on the show:
"Just to put it out there, I am who I am. I do not care how you see me. Call me crazy, but it's out there because I am not perfect and I will never boast that I'm perfect. Everyone makes mistakes."
