Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn star in the ABC comedy The Middle, and we sat down with them at a recent press event in LA to get the scoop on season four, and the less glamorous jobs they held prior to the show. They also filled us in on what's to come for the Heck family and joked about why the writers have it easy. Find out more from the funny duo in our interview. The Middle airs Wednesdays at 8/7 C.

ABC Renews Revenge, Once Upon a Time, Modern Family, and More
With season finales rolling on, we may be wondering about the fate of certain characters, but now we at least know the fate of some of the shows. In the case of most of ABC's slate, there's good news: ABC is renewing freshman series Once Upon a Time, Revenge, and Suburgatory, as well as veteran series Modern Family, The Middle, Grey's Anatomy, and Castle. ABC's reality shows Dancing With the Stars, The Bachelor, and Shark Tank also got picked up for additional seasons. There's no news yet on the fate of Happy Endings or Private Practice, but let's just say we have our fingers crossed. UPDATE: Happy Endings has also been renewed for a third season!

Halloween Sneak Peek: The Middle, Suburgatory, and Last Man Standing
The suburban families of ABC's The Middle, Suburgatory, and Last Man Standing hit neighborhood streets for a little trick-or-treating during their Halloween episodes, with both adults and kids dressing up in costume. Some, like The Middle's Sue, embrace the Halloween spirit with a homemade costume, while others, like Suburgatory's apathetic Tessa, use a single accessory to create a look. Check out the pics to see what the other characters opted for!

Television Moms and Dads: Are They Real-Life Parents?
It's one thing to be a parent and another to play one on television. The boob tube is full of colorful characters we look to for comic relief and even parenting advice, but are the actors and actresses who portray our favorite onscreen moms and pops tending to their own offspring off screen? Take this quiz and test your knowledge!

Take the QuizGrey's Anatomy, Modern Family, and 4 More ABC Shows Renewed

It's ABC's time to shine at the Winter TCA, and the network kicked off the day by announcing the pickup of six series. It's no shocker that rating hits like Grey's Anatomy and Modern Family will be coming back, along with The Middle, Private Practice, and Castle. I was also delighted to see that Cougar Town will be getting a third season.
As for shows that are still in the lurch? The jury is still out on aging series like Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters, plus freshman series like Better With You.
What do you think of the early pickups? Did your favorite make the cut?

The Middle: Does Your Life Revolve Around Your Children?

Has your home been taken over by children? On last night's hilarious episode of The Middle, Frankie and Mike decide to take back their house after realizing that their lives revolve around the whims and demands of Axel, Sue, and Brick. As part of the effort, the parents plan meals around their own preferences, have a hangover-inducing date night, and stop shuttling their kids and running errands. Ultimately, they find that making their children happy has great personal rewards. For better or worse, do your offspring tell you what to do?

Best of 2010: What's Your Favorite Parenting Show?
Moms need an escape from reality every now and then, but they don't often stray too far from the central themes of their own lives. Though the boob tube is filled with shows that speak to women, we often find ourselves wrapped up in programs that focus on parenting. Though some approach it from a comedic angle, and others from the dramatic, we just can't seem to escape watching families grapple with the bigger issues in caring for their kids. Which parenting-themed show is your favorite?
