While Alice's wonderland may be on the minds of many these days, I'm most interested in Tamar Mogendorff's magical world. An artist of the crafty kind, the Brooklyn lady has the ability to turn bears, owls, birds, and whales into magical visions with a whimsical twist. Using fabric, wire, and sequins, she creates (and knits) animal habitats that would make Walt Disney blush. Her plush polar bears don gold shimmery tiaras and her whales sport shiny discs of sequins instead of pesky barnacles on their underbellies. Her long albino peacocks could decorate your mantel, while her romantic birds are suited for a backyard or indoor space. I just don't know how I can ever pick just one!
