It was parents interrupted last night on Modern Family when the Dunphey kids make breakfast in bed for Phil and Claire and walk in on them having sex. While the situation isn't uncommon (especially when people don't lock their doors), it startles everyone involved and makes for an awkward situation. Haley, Alex, and Luke flee while a mortified Claire hides in her room trying to figure out how she will broach the subject and has flashbacks of the time she interrupted her own parents. Meanwhile, Phil plays it cool eating his bacon and eggs and of course, hilarity ensues. Have your kids ever walked in on you?

Has your home been taken over by children? On last night's hilarious episode of The Middle, Frankie and Mike decide to take back their house after realizing that their lives revolve around the whims and demands of Axel, Sue, and Brick. As part of the effort, the parents plan meals around their own preferences, have a hangover-inducing date night, and stop shuttling their kids and running errands. Moms need an escape from reality every now and then, but they don't often stray too far from the central themes of their own lives. Though the boob tube is filled with shows that speak to women, we often find ourselves wrapped up in programs that focus on parenting. Though some approach it from a comedic angle, and others from the dramatic, we just can't seem to escape watching families grapple with the bigger issues in caring for their kids. The Bravermans are an open book and the family is comfortable or comfortably uncomfortable talking about everything from Kristina faking it to Drew's long showers and Zeek's indiscretions to Sarah's failures. Last night on Parenthood, Crosby tells Adam that he has second thoughts about proposing to Jasmine. The younger brother is unsure if it is because he got swept up in the moment or did it for Jabbar. Adam keeps Crosby's confidence, reassured him that things were OK, and extends hearty congratulations. Is your family as open as the Bravermans?
