We're looking at first-day-of-school options for every budget level, and today we're offering up six outfits for $75 or less. Check them out (and if Mama's budget is a bit tighter, be sure to see our head-to-toe options for under $35)!
Sundance Style: Kate Bosworth
If cold weather typically translates to a lack of wardrobe innovation, you might want to study up on Kate Bosworth's look. This Sundance ensemble is all about mixing the best of your closet, like your favorite little dress, with Winter weather-proof layers. Just throw on a pretty, easy dress ($138) in a bright hue and add tights, boots ($74, originally $99), and a cozy coat. Finish it off with a cute pair of earmuffs and a tote you love, like Kate's Alexander Wang Rocco bag, for a look that doesn't compromise style for comfort.

Simple or Swank: Ruffled Sweaters For Lil Ladies
Everything is coming up ruffled this Spring, and the trend is working its way down to junior fashionistas as well. Unlike adults who often look like little girls when they overdo the look, ruffles look perfectly sophisticated and girly on pint-sized clothing.

Simple: Land's End has moved a bit more stylish this season borrowing some designs from their more fashionable competitors. Their all cotton Ruffle Cardigan ($30) would look perfect on its own, or layered over a Spring dress or t-shirt.
Swank: Crewcuts Classroom Cardigan ($54) looks just like a sized-down version of mama's favorite sweater. This version adds a silk ruffle to a cotton knit sweater.

Lil Tip: Lands' End Lost Mitten Club
The same thing happens every year without fail. As February arrives, kids lose their mittens just as the stores are turning their merchandise over to Spring. Good luck finding a replacement set this time of year. Lucky for us, the folks at Lands' End know a thing or two about missing gloves and have instituted the Lost Mitten Club. Once your tot has declared his mitten missing, simply visit the company's site, identify the glove you need and contact the company with the item number and color. If the item is available, Lands' End will ship you the replacement for half the cost of the pair - without the hassle of a shipping fee. Sounds like the perfect solution to an age-old problem!
