Are you ready for some football? Even if the sport doesn't get you excited for the Super Bowl, the actual event itself is fun for everyone — just look at the commercials. While beer and web domain companies often get a lot of attention for their half-naked stars, it's babies and kids who steal the show. Just look at the mini Darth Vader Volkswagen made famous a few years ago, or the little boy who just wanted to give his favorite football player a little morale boost. We've rounded up 13 of our favorite Super Bowl ads — from this year and years past — starring babies and kids.
For all the debate of parents who have a favorite child, it's tots who clearly have a preference — especially when they're young! Whether it's the only name they can clearly say or it's just the parent they feel closest too, new moms and dads often turn it into a game directly asking tots to name their favorite. In case you haven't seen seen it yet, watch as one dad got more than he bargained for when he interrogated lil Maddie on camera. The dad can't even get through the question before his lil one blurts out her answer — and let's just say it isn't the answer he hoped for. This tyke is already a candidate for our favorite kid video of the year!
Now that the Christmas buying madness is over — and your little lady's room is probably stocked full of new princess toys and your son has scored some new trucks — watch this future feminist's rant against the gender stereotyping of toys. The adorable little Riley is not happy that toy manufacturers keep forcing pink and princesses on little girls, who she says like other colors and superheroes, too. Her diatribe puts her right up with the 5-year-old lil girl who told us she had to have a job before she got married — one of the cutest kid videos of 2011. Kind of makes you think, right — and wonder what her parents did to make her so articulate and thoughtful at such a young age? Riley, Betty Friedan, and Gloria Steinem would be proud!
Video may have killed the radio star, but it's launching the careers of quite a few babies. Armed with smartphones and handheld cameras at all times, Mom and Dad are ready to capture their lil one's funniest outtakes at all times. This may have been the year of the breakout YouTube kid star, as the tots in the following videos became overnight sensations while just doing their thing! Check out our favorite videos of the year, and tell us which takes the prize in the comments below!
It was a dream come true for two lil YouTube stars on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today. We all sighed a collective "ohhh" when Sophia Grace Brown Lee, 8, and her cousin Rosie, 5, donned pink ballerina tutus and sparkly princess crowns to masterfully rap their way through Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" last week. The tots became overnight sensations, with their video racking up more than 7 million views from fans around the world. Today, the duo appeared as Ellen's guests, where they were surprised by the rapper herself, who urged the girls to stay in school before joining them for an "impromptu" duet. Check it out below — their reaction is great!
Thank goodness for phones with cameras these days! How else would we capture all of our lil ones' funny outtakes? Sophia Grace Brownlee is the latest tot to wow us with her YouTube presence. Her mama captured her spot-on rendition of Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" on camera, and we can't get enough of it! And if a princess-outfitted tot rapping on key isn't enough to impress you, check out the lil star's sidekick — her dance moves will have you cracking up! Check it out!
Kindergarten trio the SH'Boss Boys recently wowed the America's Got Talent judges with its sweet kiddie rap about education. What does the group's spokesman, known can Captain ShBoss, say they'd do if they won the $1 million prize? "Buy a big, big house and put lots of kids in there that don't have a home and put lots of toys in there, so they could play all day." Yes, that's the sound of hearts breaking. Someone get these boys a major record deal.
In show business, they tell actors to steer clear of kids and pets because they steal the show. Well, that's certainly the case here! The only thing that could make a baby giggling nonstop any cuter is an adorable dog trying to eat soap bubbles. This video is all kinds of adorable!
YouTube isn't the only place with funny baby videos. We've laughed so hard that we were brought to tears with the jabbering twins, the dancing napper, and the sneeze-scared baby, but this lil one has us smiling all over again. Kristino17 shared this video of her tot on her OnSugar blog RJ's Adventures in the Windy City. Check it out!
The best thing about nap time is waking up for the party! This 2-year-old doesn't miss a beat as he dances awake to Waka Flocka. Watch as he slowly nods his head to the beat and then immediately wakes up and starts boogying. Being a kid is too much fun.
