What's the Strangest Place You Took a Pregnancy Test?

Sometimes you just can't wait!

Sometimes you just can't wait! After buying a home pregnancy test, some hopeful mamas-to-be just can't make it home before peeing on the stick. At a recent event introducing the new easy-to-handle Clearblue Plus Pregnancy Test, maternity concierge and BravoTV reality star Rosie Pope revealed that she discovered her third pregnancy at her oldest son's third birthday party. Saying she just couldn't wait to go home to take the test, she snuck into the bathroom and learned the exciting news.

Most LilSugar readers told us they took their tests at home, but we want to know — pregnant or not — where was the strangest place you took the test?

I'm Pregnant! Did You Tell Mom, Sibling, or Friend First?

There's no protocol for sharing pregnancy news!

There's no protocol for sharing pregnancy news! Once a woman pees on the stick and gets a positive result, the big decision becomes who to tell first. Though most mamas-to-be share the secret with their significant other first, the second person might be their own mother, a sibling, or a friend. According to a study by EPT:

After they told their partner, most women told their mom before telling a friend or sibling. Nearly half of moms (46 percent) and expectant mothers (45 percent) told their own mother first. This is roughly two times as many as those who phoned a friend first. Only four percent of moms told their fathers first.

Where Did You Take Your Pregnancy Test?

Would you pop a squat just anywhere to take a home pregnancy test?

Would you pop a squat just anywhere to take a home pregnancy test? The privacy of your home bathroom may seem like the ideal place to pee on a stick – or the not-so-private home bathroom in the case of Bethenny Frankel – but many women can't wait that long to see their pregnancy results. A new study by First Response found that one in 20 women headed to the restroom at work to see if their test showed two little lines. We've also seen women on both the small and large screen sneaking into hotel bathrooms (Friends), convenience stores (Juno), and airports (What I Like About You) to take the tests. Where did you take yours?

Positive Home Pregnancy Test Keepsake: Don't Do Digitial!

If an aspiring mama believes that her home pregnancy test is for keeps, then she should steer clear of the digital variety.

If an aspiring mama believes that her home pregnancy test is for keeps, then she should steer clear of the digital variety. LilSugar reader lawchick explained what happens when women use the types of devices that have a limited lifespan. She said:

Mine was digital and died after about 24 hours, so it wasn't an option to keep it. I took a picture though! Not sure if I would've wanted to keep a stick with my pee on it, though, ha.

Expectant mothers may want to have the camera ready even if they use the standard line test. User Niami said, "the lines from my first son have faded since the test was taken in 1992." Even if that happens, Girl Jen acknowledged the obvious treasure. She commented, "I got my permanent keepsake of that positive pregnancy test about 8 months after I took it."

Keepsake Case For Positive Pregnancy Test?

Sometimes memories aren't enough .

Sometimes memories aren't enough . . . even when they involve peeing on a stick. Expectant mothers who can't part with their positive home pregnancy tests consider them keepsakes. And now, one manufacturer is offering the mamas-to-be a case to store the treasure in (with proof of purchase, of course!). According to a study conducted by E.P.T., the urine strips ranked right up there with items like ultrasound photos and hospital wristbands in terms of things mothers cherish. Since the test isn't normally something parents display on the mantel, most people stored theirs in a plastic bag. What's your opinion?

When Did You Find Out You Were Pregnant?

What a difference a day makes...or does it?

What a difference a day makes...or does it? Church and Dwight, Co., Inc. recently announced that their First Response Early Result Pregnancy Test can be used up to six days before a missed period. For want-to-be mamas who are anxious to find out if they are with child, it's exciting news. Some ladies track their cycles while others are a bit more lax about the childbearing process. There are even women who never realize they are expecting until baby makes its debut. How long was it until you figured it out?

Would You Take a Pregnancy Test From the Dollar Store?

Last week while in the checkout line at the dollar store, I noticed pregnancy tests nestled between first aid kits and hydrocortisone cream.

Last week while in the checkout line at the dollar store, I noticed pregnancy tests nestled between first aid kits and hydrocortisone cream. My first thought was "OMG! A dollar!? What if those are expired?!" but hey, a test is a test right? When I returned home I Googled the brand and found out I am not the only person wondering about it. Turns out plenty of people have tried them, most of whom found them effective (well at least the people in the forums I read). Would you trust, buy or try a pregnancy test from a dollar store?
