Clean Up With Trina Turk For Alice Supply Co.

Übercute cleaning tool company Alice Supply Co.

Übercute cleaning tool company Alice Supply Co. has just launched an exclusive line of housewares and tools featuring the distinctive designs of Palm Beach-style purveyor Trina Turk! Today through Monday, Aug. 29, the collection is on sale at Design/Story (sign up to shop if you're not a member) and includes a tape measure, dust brush, scissors, hose, ping-pong paddle, dust pan, and tool box, ranging from $8 to $65 (down from $10 to $82). The groovy prints include an abstract blue and green pattern and a mod orange and yellow link/trellis design.

If I had a ping-pong table, I'd be all about that cheerful paddle; I bet Jonathan Adler would love to have those for his own paisley ping-pong table. Anything but the garden hose would make a lovely addition to my own city apartment. That said, I think Alice Supply Co.'s own cheerful designs are equally chic and as adorable as Trina Turk's!

BabySugar Diaries: Battle of the Eco-Friendly Cleansers

Since having my second child, I've been on a mission to green our home and provide my kids with the most eco-friendly options available.
Review of Eco-Friendly Nursery Cleansers

Since having my second child, I've been on a mission to green our home and provide my kids with the most eco-friendly options available. At the same time, I'm a bit of a clean freak who has been known to develop a nervous twitch when things start to feel dirty. So moving to eco-friendly household cleansers has been a slow migration. With the help of our friends at Babies R Us, we gathered a handful of green cleansers and put them to the test – attempting to clean off an infant's dirty high chair tray after a messy dinner of pureed butternut squash and apricots. Click through the following slides to see which cleaning agents made the grade in our home.

Casa Shops: Alice Supply Co.

There are two things I know to be true: I'm a sucker for good packaging (and color), and my cleaning supplies rarely see the light of day.

There are two things I know to be true: I'm a sucker for good packaging (and color), and my cleaning supplies rarely see the light of day. The answer to and beguiling lovechild of these truths: Alice Supply Co. In hopes of giving mundane household items a little personality, making chores a little less laborious, and ending "the humble dustpan's days of being shoved away in a closet," former surfwear industry execs Maria Barnes and Raili Clasen founded Alice, aptly named after The Brady Bunch's witty housekeeper.

Not only have they infused sunny, citrus colors like clementine and lime into their essential household tools, as well as summery stripes, cordial camo, and fresh faux bois, but they've also used classic shapes and quality, durable materials like metal and wood. While you'll find plenty of lucky retailers peddling Alice products around the country, you can also order a sponge set, dust pan and brush, plunger, toolbox, garden hose, and bucket online — and at friendly prices. I'm convinced, and if housekeeping is anything like their hip lifestyle photos suggest, you can call me Alice.

Baby Wellness: Dapple Toy Cleaner

You wash your tot's hands frequently in hopes of preventing the tiniest of cold and flu germs from entering her body, but what do you do when her friend comes over with a runny nose, little cough and dirty fingers?

You wash your tot's hands frequently in hopes of preventing the tiniest of cold and flu germs from entering her body, but what do you do when her friend comes over with a runny nose, little cough and dirty fingers? Though her mom may wipe her nose incessantly, be sure to clean the toys they played with soon after the playdate ends.

While some mothers opt for an old fashion scrub down in diluted bleach, others look for more natural cleansing solutions. Dapple Toy Cleaner Wipes ($8) are made from fruit extracts and baking soda, meaning that no harsh chemicals are left on the surface of the toys when you are done. Phthalate, paraben, SLES and dye-free, the wipes are biodegradable and convenient to use.
