Obama Makes Up For Lost Time With Essay on Fatherhood

After years of women working to achieve the unattainable role of "perfect mother," many moms are settling for just being the best they can and admitting their shortcomings both anonymously and publicly.

After years of women working to achieve the unattainable role of "perfect mother," many moms are settling for just being the best they can and admitting their shortcomings both anonymously and publicly. While mamas spend plenty of time complaining about their spouses' inabilities to care for their kids the way they do, they forget to acknowledge that dads have their own misgivings and guilt about parenthood too. With Father's Day upon us, the most powerful pop in the nation took some time to reflect on what it means to be a father. In an essay he penned for this weekend's Parade magazine, President Obama says:

"I know I have been an imperfect father. I know I have made mistakes. I have lost count of all the times, over the years, when the demands of work have taken me from the duties of fatherhood. There were many days out on the campaign trail when I felt like my family was a million miles away, and I knew I was missing moments of my daughters' lives that I'd never get back. It is a loss I will never fully accept.

Whether in the White House or middle America, most parents connect with what the Commander-in-Chief said about missed ballet recitals, soccer games and spelling bees.  How do you make up for missed events?

Obama Pulls Families Out of Politics

Perhaps because he's a father and husband or just a moral man, Democratic candidate Barak Obama said that families are off-limits in this presidential race.

Perhaps because he's a father and husband or just a moral man, Democratic candidate Barak Obama said that families are off-limits in this presidential race. CNN reported:

"Let me be as clear as possible," Obama said. "I think people's families are off-limits, and people's children are especially off-limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin's performance as governor or her potential performance as a vice president."

His statement was in response to the recent news that Gov. Sarah Palin's 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, is five-months pregnant. Obama added that he is a product of teenage pregnancy as his own mother was 18 when she gave birth. When it comes to living very public and political lives, do you think it's fair to ask that candidate's families be taken out of the mix?

Childhood Pictures Can Come Back to Haunt You

Everyone's got childhood photos that come back to haunt them.

Everyone's got childhood photos that come back to haunt them. But, Casey Knowles was a television extra when some footage of her sleeping was shot. Owned by Getty Images, the clip was recently used in an ad for Hillary Clinton that featured lil ones slumbering.

It's not a big deal, except the girl is now a young woman working on the Obama campaign.

Are Obama Babies More Popular Than Clinton Babies?

Has the Hollywood baby war gone governmental?

Has the Hollywood baby war gone governmental? It's been widely reported that magazine covers of celebutant Nicole Richie and lil Harlow have outsold those of songstress Christina Aguilera and her infant, Max.

But, now Obama babes seem to be rocking the photographers, while Clinton children are barely getting any attention from shutterbugs? Do you think film is any indication of the future?

Baby Bait For Presidential Candidates

One of the Presidential candidates will be the future leader of our country, but would you trust them to hold your babe?

One of the Presidential candidates will be the future leader of our country, but would you trust them to hold your babe? One dad did.

Darren Garnick, father of two, recants his experience hitting the campaign trail for pictures of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, John Edwards, Rudy Giuliani, Dennis Kucinich, Bill Richardson and Mitt Romney with his 5-month-old daughter, Dahlia in a recent Slate article. He wrote:

"As a resident of the "Live Free or Die" state, I'll concede that the New Hampshire presidential primary gives us ridiculously disproportionate influence. But I love the fact that my state's electoral power comes with a great fringe benefit: It's easy to enshrine the next president in your family scrapbook. A sucker for political kitsch, I set out to photograph my 5-month-old daughter, Dahlia, in the arms of every candidate with a prayer of making it to the White House."
