Sneak a Peek at Diane von Furstenberg's New Collection For GapKids and BabyGap Before It Hits Stores!

Diane von Furstenberg is at it again .

Diane von Furstenberg is at it again . . . and we couldn't be happier! As announced last month, the iconic designer is lending her hand to a second collection for GapKids and BabyGap that will hit store shelves (it will be available at GapKids, BabyGap, and DVF stores, as well as online) on April 25, and based on this sneak peek, it's bound to fly off store shelves.

This year's theme, Explorers, is filled with African-inspired prints and wild-animal illustrations all meant to express girls' natural desire to discover the world around them. Of course, the capsule collection includes the iconic DVF wrap dress — though it is reworked into a shorts romper to be a bit more child-friendly — as well as printed skinny jeans, rompers, tees, swimwear, shirtdresses, leggings, lace-up espadrilles, sunhats, and more. Expect to see plenty of safari-themed and hibiscus bud graphics, the DVF signature heart, and some Gap/DVF graffiti on the various pieces.

The first collaboration, which featured the DVF Loves GapKids theme, was an instant hit with parents and kids alike, so click through our first look at the collection, and start making your shopping lists now!

OnSugar Blog: I Love Gap Crawlers

Lots of moms like to think out loud and PatiBF is one of them.

Lots of moms like to think out loud and PatiBF is one of them. On Baby Style she shares her favorite finds for moms and their tots.

I love these crawlers from babyGap for daily playtime. They're comfortable and movable for little cruisers and crawlers but they're still whimsical and cute for little princesses. I got Sandra the ivory tutu crawler and I think I may have to go back for more! The top she is wearing above is also from babyGap. The picture was taken during Thanksgiving at NY Grandma's house.

Celebaby Style: Suri Cruise Is a Burst of Sunshine in BabyGap

Suri Cruise knows how to mix things up when dressing for a day of shopping with mom Katie Holmes. The stylish tot skipped the pajamas and bunny slippers and slipped on something a bit more fashionable for a trip to Barneys in Los Angeles yesterday.

Tom Cruise's lil lady wore BabyGap's new Hampton's collection sunburst dress ($30), paired with cute (and comfortable) purple ballet flats that matched her mama's footwear. The shopaholic-in-training was seen trailing her mom through the shoe department after a coffee and pastry break. To re-create Suri's current look for your lil one, check out the pieces below.

Sneak Peek of Stella McCartney's Spring Line For GapKids

Fashionistas rejoice! Following Stella McCartney's unbelievably successful collaboration with GapKids last Fall, the designer and mother of three is at it again with a Spring collection that will have moms lining up when the pieces hit stores next week.

Fashionistas rejoice! Following Stella McCartney's unbelievably successful collaboration with GapKids last Fall, the designer and mother of three is at it again with a Spring collection that will have moms lining up when the pieces hit stores next week.

The western and nautically inspired Spring and Summer designs include denim shirts, crocheted tops, and an adorable pair of espadrilles that are sure to fly off the racks. The bright colors and vibrant patterns will certainly appeal to tots, but mamas who want in on the hip line shouldn't be afraid to try on the larger sizes for themselves. Many moms, including French First Lady Carla Bruni, were seen sporting the largest kid sizes last Fall.

Take a sneak peek at some of the pieces below and tell us what you think.

Interview With Jennifer Giangualano: babyGap Designer Sizes Down Denim

What happens when a group of parents look at a clothing line and wish it could be downsized for their tots?

What happens when a group of parents look at a clothing line and wish it could be downsized for their tots? The 1969 babyGap Premium Denim line. It's a mini-version of the adult line that was introduced last year and extends hip designer style to basic wardrobe items. The wee set of overalls, jackets, shirts and pants range in price from $15-$29.50.

Jennifer Giangualano, Head Designer for babyGap, chatted with us about the process of making apparel for the small set. Knowing how fussy babies can be, the design team spends most of their time focused on comfort and fabric so the garments are soft and wearable. An adult pair of jeans uses fabric weighing 11-13 ounces while the infant fabric weighs eight. The team also considers function — like easy closures for quick diaper changes.

The new collection fits into Giangualano's philosophy that a newborn wardrobe should include a decent mix of practical and whimsical items. With a foundation of basic knits, leggings, and jeans, the mom-of-two likes to up the cool factor with printed tops and jackets to move away from the "matchy-matchy" look of a head-to-toe outfit. As seasons and styles change, babyGap will introduce new core pieces to the 1969 collection, ensuring that even the youngest member of your family can be a fashionista.

It's Heeeeere . . . Stella McCartney's Gap Collection!

Stylish mamas can breathe again .

Stylish mamas can breathe again . . . the wait is over! When word broke that Stella McCartney was going to design a line of children's clothes for GapKids and BabyGap, fashion-forward mums were chomping at the bit to get a peek at what would surely be a fabulous line sheet. And like she always does, mama Stella delivered.

I can't decide if Ellen Pompeo inspired her chic gray matter or if the late pop icon Michael Jackson had any influence on the rock star royalty's thrilling juvenile look. Perhaps it is a mashup of the two that produced the zippered skinny jeans, leopard faced dress, a "Bad" military jacket, and the oh-so-cute pink ombre layered tutu. Whatever it was, we're lovin' the kick back to the '80s for our wee ones.
