Appaman Transports Tots Back to the '80s For Spring/Summer 2013

The '80s are back big time in the world of Appaman!

The '80s are back big time in the world of Appaman! The Brooklyn-based street-chic line for kids is taking a leap back in time to the early '80s for its ombré and tracksuit-filled Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

For boys — where Appaman has always been a purveyor of cool clothes both on and off the playground — expect to see plenty of cool t-shirt designs including swooshes, moon men, and a collaboration with graffiti artiest AVONE that highlights NYC landmarks, as well as khaki suits, surfer bathing suits, and windbreakers. On the girl side, you'll find retro graphic tees with images of ice cream cones and cherries, chambray dresses, and a great anorak for rainy Spring days.

Take look at the collection — a day before it hits store shelves — and see how easily you're transported back in time!

Cool, calm, and collected, that's how Shiloh and Zahara Jolie-Pitt like to keep it when shopping with Angelina Jolie.

Cool, calm, and collected, that's how Shiloh and Zahara Jolie-Pitt like to keep it when shopping with Angelina Jolie. The two were spotted on a girls-only shopping trip in Los Angeles over the weekend and both looked positively summery while picking up some fun toys. The girls' comfortable and casual style is easy to achieve for lil ones looking to spruce up their warm weather wardrobes.

Appaman Is Latest to Support Baby Buggy With Target Collection

We love it when two brands we love come together to do something good!

We love it when two brands we love come together to do something good! Appaman, the hipster-chic tot line from Brooklyn, is joining forces with Jessica Seinfeld's Baby Buggy as the organization's third (and final) layette collaboration with Target, raising money to provide children's clothing and gear to low-income families. Best of all, the adorable clothes – which have a celebrity following that includes the Jolie-Pitt tots, Moses Martin, and James Wilkie Broderick – will be sold at a fraction of the cost of Appaman's regular line. Featuring the company's iconic ape, the garments will be available beginning April 10 for babies up to 9-months old. Get a sneak peek of the entire line here!

Appaman Goes Hipster-Chic With a '70s-Inspired Spring Collection

Take a step back to the '70s this Spring!

Take a step back to the '70s this Spring! Brooklyn-based Appaman, whose street-chic line of kids clothes attract Hollywood tots and more, invited us to an exclusive sneak peek at their Spring 2011 line, and all I can say is it's going to be a colorful season.

Inspired by the playfulness of Japanese style, which tends to include more cartoon designs and bright colors, the Spring collection is made up of a number of hip t-shirt designs, including a collaboration with SRC, a New York street art team known for its graffiti art (though the group's signature spray can is replaced with paintbrush for the junior set!). Swim, track, and camp shorts, capri jeggings, and an adorable four-layer twirly skirt round up the base of the line.

But the highlight is the boys' English-style mod suit with a tapered leg. The company's founder and lead designer, Harald Husum, was "inspired by the hipster Brooklyn moms who go all out with their children. It's prepster, superhip." With its monkey lining and cool detailing, parents won't have a tough time convincing tots to don the suit for an upcoming wedding or special party.

Appaman Brings the '80s Back With a Cool Fall Collection

Brooklyn has never looked so cool!

Brooklyn has never looked so cool! Appaman, the Brooklyn-based, ultra-cool street chic line for kids, is unveiling its Fall 2010 collection today and it is an 80's redux with a focus on oversized sweater dresses, faux leather motorcycle jackets, and denim pieces. The company's popular puffy coats (worn by Moses Martin and Ryder Robinson in the past) return in a unisex metallic silver, as well as classic black and hot pink versions and are joined by two new coats this year – a zipped fleece jacket and a faux-fur lined puffer paying homage to the 100th anniversary of the first exploration of the South Pole. A Western-inspired denim dress and a hooded denim and sweatshirt mid-weight jacket add to the collection, while a large selection of fun and age-appropriate graphic tees round out the pieces. We dare you to not drool over the sure-to-be popular line!

Slip your lil one into Appaman's Brooklyn street-inspired shirts and dresses and watch the crowds go wild!

Slip your lil one into Appaman's Brooklyn street-inspired shirts and dresses and watch the crowds go wild! The brand has become a favorite of celebrity moms like Victoria Beckham, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Heidi Klum, who recently dressed her son Henry in the shirt Maddox Jolie-Pitt made famous, the company's bulldog tee.

For Spring, the company is introducing shirts showcasing favorite boy toys like race bikes, speed trains, monster and garbage trucks, boats, and surfboards. The girls tees are a bit sweeter with images of ice cream trucks, popsicles, and bubbles and cotton dresses with geometric shapes. The company also continues to update its Plus/Minus collection of shirts, featuring age-based graphics that are perfect for the birthday tot to wear on their special day.
