It may be just another Hallmark holiday to some, but Valentine's Day can be loads of fun when mommy's got a crew of sweethearts at home. Does Your Child Play an Instrument?
I've been catching up on AMC's Mad Men and was touched by a scene from season one when Betty's young neighbor Glen sat down at the piano and plunked out a pretty tune. Sadly, his mother, Helen Bishop, yelled at him a second later to stop or risk waking up his sister. The moment broke my heart because it appeared the tender character was trying to express himself and I was reminded what an important role music can play in a child's development.

What Was Your Favorite Summer Activity?
Warm weather brings pool parties, camping, sandcastles, fireflies, sparklers and family road trips. Still, chirping crickets take me back to when I was a young lass soaking up the heat and humidity of the Texas sun. As schools are closing and the temperatures rise, think back to your dog days of summer and tell us your favorite memory.
