Baby's got style! Following the successful launch of 77kids two years ago, American Eagle just announced plans to shrink its styles into baby-sized garments later this month. little77 clothes and accessories will be available online (and in seven new 77kids stores) and are made for tots from birth through 18 months old. With the layered look still holding strong for wee ones, the collection includes casual, mid-priced items like denim, hoodies, and graphic tees for boys and girls.
Trendtotting: American Eagle Introduces 77kids
In January we told you about American Eagle's plans to bring their hip style to the younger set and now the company has officially opened the doors to their 77kids line of clothing. Geared toward the 2-10 year olds, the line includes casual, mid-priced items like jeans, hoodies and polos. Named for the year its parent company was founded - 1977 - each of the 150 items in the line has been washed 77 times to ensure it withstands the rough and tumble life of a piece of kids' clothing.

Malls will be making space for another children's store in 2009. American Eagle is going to target the small set aged two to ten years old with the brand 77kids by american eagle. According to a Reuters article the line will debut on the web before autumn 2008. It said:
The brand will offer "cool clothes" seen at some higher-end children's stores, but at more affordable prices, O'Donnell said. Whereas a pair of kids' jeans at a more upscale chain cost $48, O'Donnell said 77kids will offer them at $24 to $26, with knits priced between $12 to $14.
