While most of the country still sits in a Summer heat, the Fall fashions are patiently waiting to be perused. In an effort to get a head start on my wee one's wardrobe necessities, I stopped by
Janie and Jack and found a plethora of drool-worthy jackets for both lads and lasses.
The other day while I was getting ready, my daughter entertained herself with toys. She came running back to my bedroom and handed my husband a rubber black ring. Seeing she had something in her mouth, he asked her to open it. When she did, there were two more black rubber rings the size of pennies on top of her tongue. Freaked out, he fished them out and asked her to put them back where she got them. We followed her to the culprit — a double-decker toy bus. The wheels are lined with rubber rings, which apparently come off easily for a 21 month old. Horrified by the vehicle's design, I immediately put it out of her reach.
Before I bought the toy, I checked for age restrictions and even inspected it for possible broken parts. I learned a valuable lesson — check the wheels to make sure all of their components are secure.
Autumn fashion is in full bloom. Finding dresses to be the most comfortable apparel outside of sweats, I frequently wear bright tights to add spunk to my ensemble.
Unfortunately for pregnant ladies, most maternity tights come in the basic and boring colors and patterns. But here's a little secret to keep you looking chic — buy Italian tights! Always ahead of the fashion curve, many designers make their tights in low rise.
Can you say happy belly and sassy gams?

Golden boy Michael Phelps made Olympic history and his mama proud. Now, Debbie Phelps who has rooted her son on his entire life is being honored. People said:
Johnson's Baby has dubbed Debbie their "Mom of the Olympic Games" — and the company will donate money in her name to children's causes. (She'll also film a commercial for Johnson's on Wednesday.) The award came as a nice surprise for the middle school principal, who tells People, "I am so honored."
While the swimmer's achievements awe people all over the world, the wins are particularly inspiring for children with ADHD. The winningest Olympian was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder at nine years old and got help. When teachers told his mother that Michael couldn't focus, she took them to task explaining that he spent hours in the swimming pool. Obviously, his passion paid off with 16 medals.

The lil girl who lost her daddy to a tragic death last year will benefit from the loving gift of three other fathers. Heath Ledger died of an accidental prescription drug overdose in January and his will had not been updated to include his two-year-old daughter. The late actor was in the midst of filming The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus so three actors —Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell — stepped in to finish playing his role. Beyond making good on Heath's acting commitment, the men, who are all fathers, donated their salaries to the child.

Suri Cruise was spotted out and about with some fancy finger paint. The sassy 2-year-old flaunted some red nails while shopping with her mom, Katie Holmes, at Bonpoint Boutique in New York. While the blue-eyed brunette is quite the uptown girl and we wouldn't be surprised if she had her own manicurist, any lil lady can get this celebaby look with a bit of help from her mama.
