Just a Minute: Thanksgiving Buffet for Babes If you're cooking the holiday dinner at your house and plan on hosting a few lil ones, it's a good idea to set up a baby buffet of sorts.
Life is busy, so make it sweet. Moms on tight schedules may not have time to bake cookies from scratch after a long day at the office or park, but their children can still benefit from kitchen time together and indulge in a treat. A few weeks ago, I bought a bag of Chocolate Chunk Better Bakes ($4) at Whole Foods. The container of organic pre-portioned cookie dough from Immaculate Baking Company shortened the timely task of batter-making. My daughter just popped a few circles onto a baking sheet, and I put it in a 325 degree oven for 14 minutes. Once the cookies cooled, she had fun making them into lil sandwiches by spreading ice cream or peanut butter between two and fusing them together. To fancy up the edges, she then rolled them in chocolate sprinkles or crushed peanuts. Since the dough bits are quarter-size, they make great mini desserts.

For every parent who has drained their bank account on gifts and then spent their holiday quality time pulling those toys and trinkets from the wretches of the containers that they are tethered to, plan on having some free time and flawless hands. Amazon is currently offering this Ecological packaging option on some toys and electronics.
Lil Tip: Thanksgiving Keepsake Take a few minutes with your family and start a little holiday keepsake — a journal of thanks. In a notebook or journal, have each member of the family write down what they are thankful for this year.
There's nothing like a long car ride home from holiday festivities to tire out your mini me. Tuck your child into his car seat for a restful journey back to your abode. Here are some tips on putting tots and babes to bed while you drive.
Have warmed bottles or cold sippy cups full of milk in a hot or chilled bag. For older children a supply of bottled water or canteens on hand.
Keep a stash of ziplocked snacks to fill rumbling tummies — string cheese, granola bars, sliced apples, cracker packs and yogurt tubes.
Change your lil guy's diaper just prior to hitting the road.
Dress your tot in warm, comfortable pajamas (footed jammies keep their toes wrapped as well).
